Purdue BTN Preview

Submitted by Drew_Silver on

Did anyone see the Purdue BTN preview

looked like a lot of people walking around - no urgency to practice

The hosts were trying to say how much of a nice guy hazell is

talked about the promise he showed at OSU as a recievers coach

Terry Malone (YTTM) is new OC

Wonder if he will get fired during the season or not - my hope is he makes it through the season.  Bad look to fire a guy in October for just being bad - he has been bad for 3+ years.

I expected a YouTube video of approximately 3 minutes of people laughing. Or crying. Either way, that would have been an appropriate Purdue preview.

I like how the announcers referenced the ol' "QB will be given the keys to the offense and what kind of vehicle will he be driving" statement, as a golf cart cruises across the screen.

Pretty much somes up what we can expect from Purdue this year.

I watched it. They were talking about how they scheme for wins they can have and not tweak it for big dawgs or something like that. How low can Purdue go.

I mean, it's not the most compelling slogan out there, but I suppose if you were down to Purdue in Rutgers in your recruitment, naturally you might choose badminton.

Yeah, a Purdue preview under Hazell sounds like an opportunity to watch people having a normal day, laughing and playing, right before something unfortunate - like a football season, in their case.

Purdue has fallen hard since Joe Tiller retired. It doesn't help their AD (also retiring this year) is the polar opposite to Dave Brandon. He is a cheap bastard that refuses to spend money or properly promote Purdue sports.

I started paying attention to college football outside UM back when Joe Tiller was challenging for Big Ten championships on a regular basis. It seems strange now to see them approaching multiple decades in the gutter.

They need to look at what worked. Purdue had good QBs for a long time. Go back to the spread passing attack. Find some pro d-ends and try to make it work. I guess Danny Hope wasn't so terrible after all.

Purdue is a basketball school. Its like Duke in that sense--they dont care about football. (Of clurse they wish their hoops compared to Dook.) And they totally are waiting to end of season to make a change and reduce the buyout for Hazell from over $6M to $4.2M. But their next football coach will be just as bad so none of this matters.

There are some very good Division 2 schools in PA. To me they look like an elite D2 football school or an average FCS school, not a Big10 school.

I'd like to see them play Slippery Rock on a neutral field.

This is the reality at Purdue. Joe Tiller was the exception and even he couldnt keep the majic going (only 1 bowl game his last 3 seasons) Purdue won by playing a new style offense that was unknown in the big ten so they caught many teams off guard for a while. Eventually the luck ran out. Although im not gonna lie the Michigan vs Purdue games were always so much fun to watch.
