Public School Rankings: Michigan is...
Number 1. Looks like a composite of many sources, including US News. SF Chron seems a bit miffed.

SIAP, did a search of site and nothing came up.

Package engineers will save the world someday. Just you watch and see. Soon.

You need to apologize to Mark Dantonio, NFG. How dare you disrespect his University.

This is awesome.
And Brady Hoke apologized for it. <sigh>

I'm partial to blanket engineering myself:

I am in the packaging industry (not engineering) and I know two people who are Packaging Engineers from MSU. Neither of them know a damn thing. Random sampling or overall trend? You make the call.

Surprised to see no "package" jokes. At any rate, my high school was harder to get into than MSU. I know, not saying much.

I still remember during one of the recent UM-MSU football games, they had a little vignet of a box being made, and the announcers talked up how good MSU's packaging program is. That's right - come to MSU, we'll show you how to make boxes. Weirdest video I've seen in the rivalry.

Sparty finished 37th in the overall rankings. That is yet another reason for the familial epithet to be used often and with great vigor.

Bill and Mary plus Florida being ranked so high reflect poorly on the credibility of this list. Still, it's good to be the king.
February 18th, 2015 at 8:32 PM ^
It must be nice to be on such a familiar basis with William & Mary

Or as it's referred to here in LA - Guillermo Y María.
February 18th, 2015 at 7:39 PM ^
We're number one. Just like we were earlier in the month. Still number one! Still number one! Still number one!
February 18th, 2015 at 7:58 PM ^
you might want to mention you are talking about 'colleges' or 'universities', as opposed to the 8 trillion local school boards and PTA associations.
beyond that, go blue.

Not that I feel like debating college rankings, but I can assure you that no admission departments use this ranking. I went to UM undergrad, but for grad school I applied to UVa, Michigan, and Pitt, it was far more difficult trying to get into UVa than Michigan. Cal-Berkley is ranked above UM in every majoy ranking US News, World Rankings, etc. Not sure how you composite these rankings when UVa and Cal are ranked above Michigan in all of them lol.
February 19th, 2015 at 9:31 AM ^
had no idea that this "Michigan" you're referring to was a good school, much less the best public university in the entire land!
Thank you so much for posting this thread.
Again.
