PTI-Rich Rod
Pardon the Interruption just brought up Coach Rodriguez and how three years back he passed on the Alabama job. At least Wilbon had nice things to say, saying that college football is not fun when Michigan and Notre Dame struggle and we just talk about the coaches. Damn negative press, hurry up next year already!!!!

is pretty much demotivated since RichRod kept his job despite THIS NOT BEING ACCEPTABLE AT MICHIGAN, DAMMIT so they have settled in to celebrate the holidays and PASS THE CHIANTI AND BRIE DAMMIT I HAVE TO SIT IN CLARKIE'S SECTION.

Großschreibung (capitalization) is essential to the German character. Without Großschreibung, their next prime minister just might have a tiny pencil moustache, and where does that leave the rest of us?

I know, just another topic for discussion so I figured I'd throw it out there.......

is GARBO all they do is talk about tiger woods
December 8th, 2009 at 7:03 PM ^
They talk about the one player who they want to promote at the time. Remember this summer when they only talked about ManRam? It's total bull. And the thing about the ESPN Chicago and LA? GIMMEABREAK

I especially like how, when they do their promo for ESPN Chicago, they show athletes under the url, and usually half of them are pictures of Notre Dame players. Last I checked, Notre Dame was in Indiana, not Illinois... (Granted, I'm sure that Notre Dame has a HUGE fanbase in Chicago.)
Same with ESPN Dallas, showing Sam Bradford, and not, oh, I don't know...Colt McCoy.
Just one of the MANY things about ESPN that irritates me.

Initially I thought the exact same thing -
"FU ESPN Chicago - there are more Wolverines here than Domers!"
But then you had to see all the Sun Times and Trib stories on the ND coaching situation.... So from a journalistic point of view, it actually seems warranted.
And to all of the major ESPN haters on this board, what else do you watch? Seriously? How do you get your sports? I know ESPN has thrown Michigan under the bus recently, but they were also all over our dicks when we started 4-0. It's not like they're coming out with trash articles like Rosenberg and the Freep.

They were all over Tate when he was hot. Saying he was going to be the next Brees (which I kind of still think, but that's against the point) and then they chastise RichRod and the whole program when we lose. They overwhelmingly sacrifice journalism to capitalize on what's hot. There aren't stories about all sports and all the teams in them, just the "cool" ones.
I don't really approve of the "what else do you watch?" argument either. It's the same rhetoric that got a bunch of German's lifting their arms and walking funny, praising a guy with a little mustache.
As far as "how do you get your sports?" I think Yahoo Sports is a better, lesser, evil, and many sports reporting blogs now (not unlike this one) do a good job of filling in the gaps.

ESPN has overly biased, sub par reporting. If your not on the East Coast, in Texas or LA and want news on your team your kinda S.O.L.
December 8th, 2009 at 7:13 PM ^
I agree it can be biased and may not be the best reporting in the world on ESPN, but I watch it every day. I watch it every morning to get the basics on what went down the day before and anything that may be coming up soon. If you want news on your specific team, obviously you aren't going to get it in a nation wide sports channel. Obviously not what they are going for. I am intelligent enough to try to take what I get off of any news show and unbias it or research it further so I can figure out what is really true. It's not a big deal.

Surprised he didn't take a cheap shot at UM and/or RR. He usually likes to share his hate for Michigan.

My neighbor Ralph said some nice things about Michigan this morning.

TKoB has a neighbor named Ralph. Interesting.

Wilbon is hot/cold when it comes to Big Blue. I remember during the '08 campaign he and Kornheiser both agreed that Michigan will be in top form once RR got his type of players in place.

WELL SCREW WILBON WITH A LUNCHBOX IF HE DOESNT LIKE THE NEW YORK GIANTS!?!?!?
