PSU visit weekend
Not a lot in terms of quantity expected this weekend...

I hadn't read anywhere that they were coming, unless I missed it? Is this confirmed?

You know The Other Brian--he just likes to make shit up all the time.

For the wonderfully insightful reply.

Scout's been all over it. Henderson has confirmed he's coming for an official, and Floyd has confirmed he's coming unofficially (despite previously having an official to South Carolina scheduled for this weekend).

Sweet, thanks. I hadn't seen anything on Rivals, though to be honest I have not been reading The Fort much lately.

Getting Henderson in on an official is big news -- Michigan wasn't on his list of officials before, no?
October 19th, 2009 at 2:26 PM ^
or is it one of the times when Beaver maybe jumps the gun a bit? I only ask because the Rivals guys are flat out denying that either one is coming in.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:48 AM ^
Ahoy. Time to rake in some five-star talent!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:54 AM ^
Sweeeet. Seantrel coming in for an official is pretty awesome, if we beat Penn State you have to think that will help our chances a lot in landing Seantrel.

could just put odoms in his back pocket and run for td's. they could be like master blaster in.. mad max beyond thunder dome.

This is big. Makes me think this staff might know what its doing. Bringing in lots and lots of guys for OSU, and bringing in the big fish for some important QT this weekend. I hope RR has time to take the kids to paranormal and put his arms around them when they get scared.

Can you imagine the headlines, "RR Fondles Recruits in Movie Theatre!" writes Michael Rosenberg, and for the contrarian view, "RR Roughs Up Recruits in Theatre" writes Drew Sharp.

also been offered a spot on the bball team. anyone know how much this is going to effect his decision as to what school he will attend?
October 19th, 2009 at 11:25 AM ^
Good thing our bball team is looking pretty good this year as well.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:05 PM ^
He has said repeatedly that he would like to play both, so I would say this has to work in our favor. Now, maybe someone will get in his ear and tell him he has a way better chance at the NFL than the NBA and focusing on football is his best interest, but as long as he says he wants to play both it has to help us some

Getting guys on campus is a key step.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:25 AM ^
Didn't think we would get a visit from either. And once you get them on campus, you never know.....
October 19th, 2009 at 11:28 AM ^
and a win would only help. I have to believe that Gerg would go to a more conventional 4-3 if we can land Floyd. Can you imagine a rotation of Mike Martin, a second year Big Will, and Floyd. I wonder if another year of Barwisizing Roh will allow him to move to BGs spot or if he will stay at the hybrid DE/LB position? If he stays at the hybrid position can we land a top notch DE?
As far a Seantrel- we'll even find a place on the Bball court for you if you want to give that a try.

Golf course, tennis court, swimming pool, gymnastics... floor?
He can play whatever other sport he wants if he goes blue.

big regardless if either sign up. Demonstrates the staff is working hard and knows how to market the opportunity.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:18 PM ^
can you please confirm this and make my week? I have a Rivals account and perused Scout but did not actually see any confirming articles.
October 19th, 2009 at 12:34 PM ^
for over a week. I guess Michigan's new recruiting coordinator, Ricardo Miller, has been on the phone, facebook, myspace, or whatever else with Floyd. Henderson has had interest since this summer when he came on an unofficial and maybe the 4-2 start and competitiveness in the losses has swayed him to take an official. It is old on Scout's site and only available with paid subscrition.

It is still surprising to me that Rivals has not mentioned anything about it. Rivals usually waits until the info is 100% correct while Scout tends to jump the gun with anything they can come up with.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:14 PM ^
This is awesome. Great news. Thanks for the info.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:20 PM ^
to think that Floyd would be the bigger pick up in the sense that our D is so thin. Now on to sentral he just might be a bigger pick up in that he is the #1 player in the nation, that goes a long way, to say you signed the #1 player in the nation coming off a 3-9 season

An ITF Extra was posted this afternoon specifically regarding Seantrel Henderson and Sharrif Floyd. According to Helmholdt, they're not coming.
Henderson's coach was quoted as saying that Seantrel knew nothing about a visit to Michigan this Saturday, and Floyd's coach reiterated several times that South Carolina was to get a visit from Sharrif this weekend, and if for some reason not USC-E, then Ohio State.
Anyone who is a member of Rivals can corroborate. I guess you never know, but it doesn't look good.
October 19th, 2009 at 5:31 PM ^
This goes to show how Scout tries to take the lead over Rivals by speculating on inaccurate information. If I had a Scout account I would cancel it and switch to Rivals. Scout really got my hopes up this week and it was an epic FAIL.

Alex Smith, anyone? I really wish this site would have an update every Thursday or Friday on who is visiting that weekend. Recruits always say they love it when they get recognized on campus. Mentioning that they are visiting on this site can't hurt, right?
