Pryor shines in "Stupid QB Camp."

Submitted by mackbru on

Among the highlights from Terrelle Pryor's appearance on Gruden's "QB Camp":

*He does not know the words to the OSU fight song.

*The quarterback he idolizes is...Tom Brady.

*His favorite expression is "I feel very heartfelt."

To be honest, I'm not sure if many OSU fans/studetns would know the fight song lyrics. It's not Carmen Ohio and I rarely ever hear it. BTW, its the Buckeye Battle Cry

Nobody down here knows the words to the O State fight song.  They have to karaoke the song and alma mater using prompts on the score board at home games.  Pryor is a joke, in Columbus and everywhere else.  Another buckeye exploited and discarded by the machine.

One thing I completely agree with Gruden about, Dane S was a really good WR. I would be surprised if he doesn't have a solid NFL career. I hate OSU, but hard to not like a former walk on that plays the right way.

Dane Sanzenbacher wasnt a walk on. He was a standout at Toledo Central Catholic and I believe was on their state title team.  He saw significant playing time as a true freshman as well.  From all accounts he is a smart guy and hard worker, just not a walk on/cinderella story.

I really hope Denard can get to a point as a QB that he can be seriously looked at by the NFL and be on Grudens QB camp. (If Pryor can be there after 3 years Denard can possibly be there after 4.)

I can tell you this as all Michigan fans know, Gruden will probably fall in love with Denard the same way he loved Sanze-whatever his name is.  If we get back to who we are in the next two years with Denard as the catalyst the he will end up being the Tebow of the north with the same speculation as far as pro status.  I guess this mildly drunken diatribe goes back the the fact I am SOOOO happy we have Denard and didn't get Pryor.  It makes Michigan feel like our perception of  Michigan and that school south is accurate.

I wrote this at after hours.  My girlfriend is kinda mad now.  But fuck her, this is more important.  Aint no ring on it.

I hated that he allowed Pryor to get some digs in:  "I Never lost to Michigan", "Chris Webber" and them discussing the Michael Shaw bump coming down the tunnel.

But I loved Gruden calling him out.  Especially on the throw he made against Michigan two years ago, when Pryor was about to run out of bounds, threw it to a WR near the end zone, the ball fell short, but another OSU WR came in and made the catch.

Gruden: "Did you mean to throw it to that guy?"

Pryor:  "Absolutely"

Gruden:  "You sure about that, it looked like you were throwing to the other guy in the end-zone?"

Pryor: "When I scramble, I always have my eyes down field"

Gruden: "You better not be lying to me"

-------

Later, Gruden says: "What is that?  What are you doing there with your hands?  Is that an O?  That is a weak O man!"

------

Gruden:  "Look at your ball control, you're hanging that ball way out there when you run, not protecting it.  Oh look, and now you fumbled it into the end-zone, and who saves you?  Dane Sanzenbacher.  You got the MVP of that game, what did Sanzenbacher get?  Nothin!"

Or at least Pryor amused him.

I was sort of surprised at the quality of most of his answers to Gruden's questions.

On the other hand, when asked about what his pro hopes were Pryor said nothing about winning Super Bowls. He said he wanted to be in the Hall of Fame and set a few records, then added win a lot more games than he lost.

It was a baby seal clubbing.

Gruden absolutely EXPOSED TP for the dim-witted dufus he is.  I started to feel squeamish watching it.

That kid is dumber than a box of rocks.  He would not have been able to handle General Studies.

and all I got out of it was that at the end of the day, he's still a child with behaviour issues. You could see him trying not to giggle at Gruden and didn't seem to take it as seriously as he should have. IMHO this was a golden oppurtunity for him to start repairing his image and he failed miserably.

Forget his abilitly athletically, his attitude and overall demeanor is going to need a major overhaul if he's going to succeed at the next level.

His favorite QB is Tom Brady though so there's that. What an idiot. I wonder if he has a Woodson and Howard jersery stuffed in his closet back home too.
