Pryor says no to CFL
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6644544
Says he got paid more in college than in CFL and he'd rather be a 3rd string tight end in the NFL than a starting QB in the CFL.
So his lawyer sounded more like Pryor didn't get what he wanted in the offer than dismissing the CFL completely. Interesting...
I would say no to Saskatchewan to.
to be picked up by a team usually hire an agent instead of a lawyer?
I'm assuming Pryor is probably paying this guy to look over contacts and do the negotiating on the legal stuff and he's thinking he'll take the reins career wise. Probably a dumb choice, but, hey, it's TPeezy2; you put him in a negotiating system with any league and he'll dominate.
Most agents were lawyers at some point.
most lawyers were not agents at some point.
all squares are rectangles, yet not all rectangles are squares . . . .
is one article said James was hired by tOSU to represent the student-athlete's for the NCAA investigation. Pryor is no longer a student athlete and I fail to see what negotiating a CFL contract has to do with an NCAA violation.
Of course, the records between tOSU - James and James-Pryor are all privileged.
....stay away from him. Don't sully your burgeoning agent career by representing this guy.
(As an aside, does Rob represent athletes from multiple sports?)
There's a lot of big egoed owners in the NFL with more money than brains and one (if not more) is going to take a flyer on Pryor......even as a QB. He'd be foolish to commit to the CFL without taking a shot in the supplemental draft. Even if there's no season next year, he's probably set himself up financially to carry himself for the next year. Hey-ohhhhhhh.
Al Davis would take him...perfect match.
Because of the stench of rotting flesh which they both carry with them? One due to age, and the other due to his nature?
To me, this is the more interesting part of the article . . .
In other news, James also said that Pryor will no longer cooperate with NCAA investigators looking into Ohio State's football program, ex-players and current players.
"He doesn't need a reason (to talk to them). He's no longer a student-athlete," said James, who added that Pryor doesn't feel he owes the NCAA any answers. "They're not going to give him or any other student-athlete any due process rights to speak of, so he's moved on."
Make of that what you will. He may have actual law enforcement agencies wanting to talk to him though, besides the NCAA. We know that the IRS probably has a problem with him at the least, and that's if some of the other allegations don't pan out . . .
worked out well for Reggie Bush and Chris Webber
The IRS needs to speak with Cecil Newton first.
this means Pryor figured out how to have someone else read a map for him.
The spin machine is still going full force. The lawyer mentioned that Pryor won't talk to the NCAA becuase "they're not going to give him...any due process rights..." Meanwhile, THE Ohio State University can tell the NCAA that they aren't trying to obstruct or hinder the investigation into their cheating and blame it on the players.
I think the punishment that eventually comes down is going to be dependent upon whether the NCAA takes THE Ohio State University's stonewalling as an insult to their collective intellect or uses it as an excuse to not bother one of their best cash cows. Obviously, I am hoping for the former.
OSU could fall off the face of the planet and it would make no difference to the NCAA's bottom line. They receive no money from football (TV or bowls), and they have a pre-negotiated contract for the basketball tournament that's infinitely more dependent on the B1G surviving than any single program. OSU could pull a Chicago and get completely out of athletics and the NCAA wouldn't be short a dime compared to their take in 2010. Cash has nothing to do with it in terms of the NCAA.
In 2 years he will be begging the Roughriders to give him a shot.
What kind of a signing bonus do you get with the Roughriders, anyway? Free nachos at each game? Wait, that sounds more like a salary. Never mind . . .
Don't worry about his income. I'm sure that even if football doesn't work out for him that he'll go on to a great career in law, business, medicine, engineering, politics, whatever.
Basically says he'll be lucky if he gets picked up in the mid-late rounds of the supplemental draft. "I think he'd be happy to go in the third or fourth round (of the supplemental draft), but he'll probably be disappointed in the end,''
A team executive was quoted as saying he has terrible passing mechanics (which we all know).
Comparing him to Cam Newton, an NFL Films producer was saying they are similar size and speed but "Cam Newton has a big-time arm and throws a very, very good ball. Terrelle Pryor does not."
That's not what you want to hear when trying to get in the NFL as a QB.
The "arm punt" is considered terrible mechanics? Who knew.
The NFL has said sometime in July, if anyone enters.
...I am forever revoking my fandom. It's pretty damn shaky as it is now, anyway.
What about Australian football? Anything to get this clown out of the country. Those Canadians may not know it, but they just dodged a bullet . . .
Rotterdam Trojans it is then.....
Can giant douchebags cross the border?
CFL at least needs fairly good-thinking qb's, if not at all the other spots. Guys who dominated up here - Garcia, Moon, Flutie, etc. - were sharp.
TP has the physical tools, but his mechanics and decision-making...hey, haven't we heard this before?
Actually disappointing, I was looking forward to sharing some thoughts with him at a Montreal game. Ah well, at least I can go get my kids UM cap signed by Renaldo Sagesse...
