prototype M football jerseys created by a fan

Submitted by mgolf4 on

Here is a link to some prototype uniforms for football that a fan seems to have created: http://umgoblue.com/talk/Concept-Michigan-jerseys-m163569.aspx

I picked up the link following Stonum Woolfolk and Roundtree on twitter. While they seem to like the idea of changing the uniforms, I am a traditionalist, at least with regard to our home uniforms. Anyway just thought it might be fun to discuss. The fan's name is Tom Summers and a link to his twitter can be found here ---> http://twitter.com/#!/t_sizzle7494

Also, if someone could just embed these photos, that would be much appreciated.

edit/ Here are links to the individual prototypes. The guy must have used a Nike model since he forgot to remove the swooshes from the shoes and gloves.

I would support a move to these jerseys. There are some things that should never change, but the progression of uniforms shouldn't be one of them. These are sleek, intimidating and modern. And most importantly, they are still undeniably Michigan.

Well said.  The Michigan fanbase is becoming more and more stubborn when it comes to change.  Jerseys should (and have even though people fail to admit it) keep with the times.  I'd be interested to see the progression of Michigan jerseys over the years.  Cant imagine the absolute freak out when they switched from sweater vests to actual jerseys.

"Modern" in design terms tends to be clean and simple.  Putting wings on the jerseys isn't modern...it's just tacky.  It'd be the Ed Hardyification of our uniforms.  What, the Jock Jamz aren't bad enough?  What other low-grade garbage can we cram into the football experience to water it down to a minor league baseball level experience?

after some deep thought, i think i would like to see the third jersey for the osu game. that way when we knock the shit out of them buckeyes and they fall to the ground, they'll look up and see the block M. I could see them in that scenario.
