We made alot of progress today against a good team - we just ran out of time. Also bad call that negated the lateral...
somehow we're only 124th
No progress was made today. Please stop drinking the Cool-Aid.
It's Kool-Aid, yo.
Spell it however you want. I don't drink the shit anymore.
My last two posts were deleted because I said "Eventually Results Matter".
At least Roundtree might be a threat. That's all that we learned today.
I think there was some minor progress in terms of the offense playing a bit more cohesively. The defense is still atrocious. Still think they can steal a win one of these next two weeks, but it will be tough.
No one likes the losing. The bottom line result is disappointing.
The offense looked much better than it did last week. It was good to see Minor healthy and productive. Rountree played well.
On D, I thought the second quarter actually went reasonably well. Their opening drive looked scary. Purdue only got 3 after that in the first half. Yeah, I watched the whole game.
I'm not sure why people would expect things to change defensively at this point in the year. Our D is what it is.
Still, it was nice to see Fitzgerald in today. I saw a couple plays early on where he seemed to jump through the window and make a play.
The return to success is going to take time and the struggles are part of the process to getting back to where we want to be. I still think RR will succeed but it's not easy to watch the misses.
whether or not there was progress today isnt the question.. the question is have we made progress from 2008 to this point. I believe the answer to that question is yes. While this season took a turn for the worst after we started out at 4-0 there are a lot of things to look forward to. The offense is looking much better. Tate didn't look bad today, Roundtree had a very nice game, and Vincent Smith also did well in limited time. We have some good, young talent on offense and they will continue to get better and there will be less freshman mistakes as they progress. Defense still doesn't look great but we still have the potential to bring in a few more solid defensive recruits.
Did you mean regression? 5 losses ina row (less Delaware State). Snuck a win out against Indiana, didn;t show up in EL until the last 5 minutes, turned the ball over again and again at Iowa, got owned by PSU, gave up in Champaign, and now gave away a 14 point lead at home to a struggling Purdue team.
I don;t see how you can find a silver lining (progress) at this point.
The team needs to pull together this week and figure out how to play a full 4 quarters. It still may not be enough against Wiscy and OSU.
Since Indiana, it is clear that teams have watched the film and figured out how to exploit Michigan's defensive weaknesses.
To be fair, "throwing the ball while running past a walk-on" and "run through horrible tackles" shouldn't require much in the way of game film or offensive alterations.
I agree that the offense actually showed a lot of signs of life today. Albeit it was against a very mediocre defense, but overall Tate played fairly well, and we had a nice balance going with the passing game and the running game.
Brandon Minor and Roundtree both deserve the game ball for today.
measured in almost beating a bad team?
