I remeber this game as well. Being surrounded by Kansas fans and listening to them sing all night. Burke fires from deep and even sitting behind the basket on the other end of the floor you could just see it going. Best live game I've ever been to. Also set up cheap tickets for the Florida game.

I was so pissed watching this game.  As I said earlier I missed mass.  My family was texting me telling me I better not be late, hurry up or I'd have to stand.  I got up and changed at a commercial break.  I got so frustrated I almost left but I stayed.  I probably watched Trey Burke drain that 3 100+ times that weekend alone.

earlier about going on to face the "length" of Syracuse and the infamous amoebazone, but I totally forgot about Florida. Got dam if this team didn't go thru murderer's row on the way to the title game. Every round was the chatter about why they should lose, but what a season...if that p.o.s. ref hadn't jobbed trey on that block against Siva, I still think they would have won and there would be movies produced about last season. I still can't believe what a run it was.

What on Earth was Johnson thinking not taking that straight to the bucket down 2? It still looks like an open path to me. That kid made some of the strangest decisions I've ever seen in a tourney game that night. It looked like he had a gimme to send it to overtime.

Pretty cool.

Me, I couldn't take it. I watched every game in the tournament...alone. Then we started winning and I wouldn't change. I even had a chance to go to the Final Four but I just wanted to experience this run by myself - it had be so long and we we're playing so well.

I didn't want to be at a bar or "out," I wanted to be in front of my TV, watching every detail.

Maybe next time I'll do more and enjoy it, but there was something about this run. I didn't want to share it with anyone. I don't even think I got on MGoBlog except when we were down in games (thinking I could change my mojo and do something different).

This year if we're in Raleigh or Orlando I'll be there...but last year I just couldn't do it. I couldn't watch the entire tournament from my couch, go to Atlanta, lose in the first game, be pissed and not even care about the Championship game.

The Fab 5 era was everything to me, and this was the first time since then we'd had a REAL shot. It was personal. Which is why this may always be my ALL-TIME FAVORITE series of sports events EVER.

I'm more or less the same way these days.  I'll watch with the GF as she's into sports.  I'll watch with a buddy every now and then, but I really only have a select few that I'd ever watch Michigan games alongside.  For example, I watched the 2nd Wisconsin-Michigan basketball game with said GF and another couple who aren't big sports fans and it was just uncomfortable.  I don't allow myself to really get into it as when I'm really into it, I'm pretty sure people wouldn't think highly of me; "not thinking highly" I'm thinking is a very understated notion.

It's weird, sports.  Something that's typically supposed to be shared amongst other like-minded people, obviously alongside people with the same "rooting interests", but I find being solitary is more appropriate and even desirable, anymore.  Also, live action is nice, and fun at times.  But it's hard to beat the experience at home on an HD television with true "replay" accesibility.

Moral of this fable?....I'm a fucking loser, I think.

Before every game all I heard the talking heads on ESPN and CBS was how Michigan would struggle with something the team they were facing was bringing (Digger picked us to lose every game btw).

Can they stop a pure scorer like Nate Wolters?

The VCU press will create havoc and turnovers the Wolverines might not be able to overcome.

Kansas is too deep and too big for Michigan, if McGary doesn't outplay Withey they won't win

How can Michigan stack up against the bigs of Florida with Young and Murphy?

The 2-3 zone of Syracuse has been lights out, and it should continue in the semifinal.

Louisville is the number 1 team and with the adversity faced with Kevin Ware it should put them over the top. Plus Michigan is going to playing 5 on 8 with the individuals in black and white checking in to the Louisville scorebook.

Okay I made the last statement up, but still this team went through the gauntlet and were possibly a call away from being champs. What a run it was.
