Price watch - PSU prices going up or down

Submitted by CJRockford on

My 7 year old daughter is a huge Michigan fan (just like her dad). Last year she won a contest and was one of the reporters that got to ask coach Harbaugh a question at a press conference. I had promised her that I would take her to a Michigan game this year and PSU seemed like a good week (not too hot, not too cold). To make a short story, we're on a tight budget, but I don't want my daughter to miss out because of that. Right now I can get tickets on StubHub for $58 each. Thoughts on if you think that will go up or down closer to game day? I watched Colorado prices and they dropped into the low $30's on Friday.

Nice to be even a small part of such a generous community. You should all make your way out to the ChadTough run in the AM before we watch the team give Penn State a well deserved beat down.

I just turned this into a posbang. Love how this board takes care of good people. Please post about your game day experience.

For future reference I would be glad to throw in on tickets for loyal Michigan fans. I'm sick and tired of opposing fans getting in my section. Last week a couple 4-5 Colorado fans were too close and too loud. Not at all disrespectful but still annoying to hear them cheering. I would pay what I can spare for those to go to Michigan fans.

Some nice folks on here.  The way this community steps up to the plate and helps people out is heartwarming to say the least.

My son and I took my four year old grandson to his first Michigan game this past Saturday.  The joy he (and we) experienced was something all of us will keep in our memory banks forever. Hopefully the OP and his daughter will have as much fun as they did last year. A Saturday afternoon of football at the Big House is just plain fun, and a great way to spend quality time with your kids, potty breaks notwithstanding.

I will tell you what.  I was going to buy Colorado tickets 2 weeks before the game at $60 a piece.  I waited it out on stub hub.....they were down to about $20 a piece before the game + the astronomical fees they charge (I'm sure the weather played a huge role in that).

Waited til the walk in with the sun shining and I got 2 tickets in the corner (Section 7) Row 79 for $20 a piece ($89 face value).  Great seats, great time, little plastic bottle of Captain Morgan, some diet cokes, and I had a blast.  That was my 4th game at the Big House and it was definitely my best time.  Tailgated with Crown Royal Dave at Pioneer High School afterwards and I'm finally feeling better on a Tuesday.  Gosh I love Ann Arbor.  I don't know if my liver could take that for ALL Michigan home games.

Oh, and I don't think I will ever do stubhub again.

It's amazing that only a few years ago $20-40 was totally normal (if not on the higher side) for a ticket to any game on the schedule aside from MSU/OSU--and that's even before 2007 when things fell off the cliff. I feel like walking into any sporting event these days is gonna run you $100+ and that's pathetic.
