Press Conference -- who were those guys?

Submitted by Victory Collins on
Has anyone ID'd the "journalists" who kept trying to ambush RichRod at thepress conference about Dorsey? Sounded like more than one, so I assume maybe Drew Sharp and some other dingbat? I thought the questions were extremely amateurish from just about any perspective, and here's why: Of course Dorsey was charged -- that is a matter of a public record, so why ask that to RichRod, if only to embarass him by making him stand there and admit a somewhat embarassing fact, right? The question had no other motive because it was not intended to confirm any information -- that information is already established as fact in the public record (although I do admit that some journalists covering this team seem to have problems with getting facts straight). In any event, the question was classic cross-examination -- ask someone to admit to an embarassing fact that you already know to be true in order to make them look bad. That may be fine behavior in the court room, but when journalists engage in it, it demeans the profession. Their job is to uncover information and report it, and not to rub people's noses in things. If they really wanted to be intelligent journalists covering a story, they should not have asked the coach to confirm the obvious that anyone with an internet can see for themselves, but maybe something like "Given Demar's past involvement in the criminal justice system, what did you see in him that made you realize you were recruiting a young man of character who will be a positive contributor to this university." That type of question would be fair -- you are not asking the coach to confirm the obvious fact of Dorsey's past issues, but rather probing on why Rodirguez decided that, despite these issues, Dorsey has moved on and has put that isolated mistake behind him.

That may be relevant here. Did he have a bad experience as a student? (P.S. this is all "if I recall correctly", but Sharp, Rosenberg, and Snyder are all M alums, right?)

and one was Drew Sharp from the free press. I don't know who the third one was, but would also like to know. I wish RR had asked the reporter who asked him if it were smart for RR to take in someone with Dorsey's "problems" (without identifying what those supposed problems were) if it was smart for his employer to hire a reporter with no apparent writing ability, and with no apparent investigative ability or desire.

As seen in previous posts, I referred to the bigger of the blowhards as "Gutter Slut" to wit a fellow MGoBlogite reminded us all that his name was previously established as "Cock Knuckle".

"Given Demar's past involvement in the criminal justice system, what did you see in him that made you realize you were recruiting a young man of character who will be a positive contributor to this university." Excellently put, Vict.Con. A valid and responsible question that may have prompted an interesting answer. Instead of the outrageous attacks that prompt defensive shutdown.
