Submitted by goblue85 on

Michigan returns back to Crisler tomm night against in state Western Michigan coming to town.  It will be at 830 on BTN.  I think Michigan continues its superior play and gets a win to make it 8-0.

You aren't wrong about this team needing to close out close games. But, when playing a team that is clearly inferior, this team needs to be able to get a lead and keep the pressure on until Beilein clears the bench. I would like to see a 10-14 point halftime lead and end with 16-20+ win. I would love to see a 70-52 type game, but I guess it's a bit closer after allowing a late run. 76-68 Michigan with Stauskas hitting lots of free throws in the last couple minutes.

If we blow them out, Belein can experiment with different lineups and plays that could be useful down the stretch.  Close games should be the ones we win over competition that is supposed to beat us!

Michigan will be ready for that Razorback pressure defense, unlike last season when they were clearly overmatched for much of the first half.

Secondly, this Michigan team is way more athletic and better equipped to handle said pressure.

Lastly, and most importantly, Arkansas is a very different animal away from Bud Walton Arena. Oh, and they won't hit 80% of their shots in the first 10 minutes.

before Michigan fights back and takes a commanding lead. Then the game is called early due to lightning. NCAA will still count the stats though, don't worry.

The last two times Michigan played western (11/23/2001 & 11/30/2002) they lost. Payback time.

Far and away, just looking at Western's summary numbers, we are the more productive, opportunistic team, right down to being 4th in FG percentage and 25th in points per game. Western, on the other hand, is 159th and 178th in those respective categories. I have to guess that we handle them fairly easily. I'll go with a 82-62-ish Michigan win.

Josh Bartelstein also takes the court, in full suit, and manages to not score, only making his mark in the stats book with an assist.
