Predictions for Michigan-Iowa

I can't wait for tonight's game. The atmosphere should be terrific, and Iowa plays a really exciting brand of basketball. A win tonight for Michigan means a full two games of separation between the state of Michigan and everyone else in the Big Ten, heading into our showdown with Michigan State on Saturday. 

Prediction: 79-74 Michigan because 2014.

What I like most about this team is that they seem to play with no fear. Maintain that, limit turnovers and we win.  I don't think we shoot red hot like at Wisconsin, but it would sure help.

Coming off a big win at Wisconsin, at home, in front of our fans, in another big game, I think Michigan steps up big again tonight.

Iowa is tough, but Michigan pulls out a thriller, 75-71.

We have to bury some threes, especially early to build confidence and not let their bigs (most of the team) take advantage. Gonna be crazy and hoping for subs.

then Michigan is going to win.  

However, there's no way Iowa gives the game away by sagging off the pick-and-roll perimeter stuff as Wiscy did.

Marble and, I suspect, Uthoff, will be charged with hassling the perimeter and Stauskas.  Uthoff is 6'9" and can play the 2-4, though he's too skinny to bang.  Uthoff also is second on the team in blocks.  Marble, btw, is not 6'6".  He's at least 6'7".  Last, Oglesby is not just a shooting statue, he plays very smart, effective D.

Looking forward to the contest.  I think Iowa will attempt to force Michigan to win it down low.

But seriously, when he did that chair thing a couple years ago, I thought he was just a very passionate coach who got caught up in the moment.  Now, I legit think that man is bat shit crazy.  My one prediction for tonight's game:  Fran continues to prove he is way off his rocker.

tempo in this game. I see Iowa as sort of similar in manpower to Arizona, with a lot of tall guys. Michigan faces matchup issues with their entire lineup, and see slowing down both Aaron White and Devyn Marble as the best way to hold down the defensive fort against these guys.
