Not a whole lot of action going on this weekend college football wise and by action I mean lack of exciting games. Although I don't expect it to happen I think the Auburn vs LSU game could have some exciting moments. Then again I see Auburn being killed in the 1st quarter all the way to the 4th. I think LSU will win by 20 or 22 points. Auburn still sucks. As for our game vs UConn, the Wolverines will be beyond furious going into this game and fired up ready to f*ck somebody up. I look for a lot of hard hits, strong runs and a much better passing game by Devin. I also look for Clark to light their QB up early. Also as much as we hate both Sparty and ND these two face each other in South Bend this weekend on NBC. MSU with their strong defense should be able to hold the Irish under 21 points possibly if Rees has another "pickoff" perfomance like he did vs Michigan two weeks ago. However I believe because of their stronger offensive weapons and with a realible QB in Rees who's able to hit his WRs, I have the Irish handing MSU their first loss of the season. So here's my predictions for both games on Saturday. Michigan 56 UConn 10 ND 21 MSU 17. GO BLUE. Your picks?
Prediction for the UConn game and for the Fightin' Catfish vs Lil Bro
This goes here:
Thank you for that post of Mr. T, one of my favorite movie moments and perfect for describing last week's game and what I want to see UCONN experience this week....
Not in the way I'd hoped, though ... .
Clubber Lang was definitely the best Rocky foe. It's amazing that that was Mr. T's debut as an actor.
I watched the remix of Apollo Creed getting punched to death. I think that video suffices for my prediction.
M- 38, UConn-14
ND-20, MSU - 17
Michigan 41, Uconn 6 Notre Dame 21, MSU 9
Michigan 51-10 Notre dame 31-10
I refuse to predict again. I intentionally did not wear my usual/lucky shirt/jersey combo last week because it's Akron, you know? I will never do that again. I can't even get the game in TX and I will be wearing my shirt and jersey at game time. It's all up to me, guys.
You got us man, thank you
Ah ha! So, it's YOUR fault we played so crappy last week. You go put that shirt and jersey on right now!
lucky shirt. Apparently the new maize 2013 lucky shirt is now the one.
I have my "pregame" Friday shirt on right now. You know, the lame "pour some sugar on me" Nike shirt from our Sugar Bowl win against VT.
I didn't wear my the same michigan hat I have worn at every game for the past 5-6 seasons. My bad.
Well considering we've sucked for the majority of the past 5 to 6 years I think it's time to retire that hat.
I actually wore my previously unlucky MGoPhotobomb t-shirt to the Notre Dame game because I was so confident we'd win. I now regard it as appropriately lucked up, though I didn't wear it to Akron, which may have been part of the probelm.
I always drink beer out of my 32oz. Michigan mug and I didn't for the Akron game so I think all our miscues led to all the miscues on the field! Semi serious....
I think the "little brother" moniker is dead. Dave Brandon killed it Saturday.
Scoreboard! Clap clap clapclapclap.
56-3... Good guys. One hell of a statement game.
ND wins 16-6 in the most eye-bleeding game ever witnessed. MSU does not crack 100 yards in the air.
UCONN wins 182-1... because obviously.
You like us for only the extra point but not the TD?
One point safety, obviously.
I'm looking for Frank Clark to light up their QB in the same way I'm looking for a winning lotto ticket. Sure, I want it to happen, but I have no reason to think it will.
He hasn't lived up to the hype yet.
Yeah Frank Clark won't be lighting much of anything up. I'd love to eat crow about this, I welcome it with open arms. It ain't happening though. I can and would like to see him play better, though. By playing better, I mean not running over his own troops.
I'd also like to see our linebackers (not all but Bolden, Morgan maybe) play better coverage against this UConn spread stuff; it'll still be against UConn but an improvement from last week would be nice to see and help the optimism.
NORFLEET...RETURN ONE ALREADY....also, catch the ball when not returning one to the house.
Gardner, I hope to see with ZERO turnovers. He needs to go out and prove to himself he can get a game in with out turning the ball over even if it means taking additional sacks or throwing the ball away.
Defense: "make more plays" between the 20s.
77-2 Notre Dame
U-M 28, ND 24
Swarbrick and Brandon can't let an 8:00 PM start pass by their collective marketing genius, pull the switcheroo and the Wolverines show up in South Bend. Brian Kelly watches the Akron film and thinks he has a chance this time -- he's wrong.
UCONN 16, MSU 3
Since both teams were suddenly without an opponent, MSU decides to host Paul Pasqualoni's team in East Lansing. Coach P shrugs and says, "What the hell?" and calls the same game plan he had in mind for the Wolverines. It succeeds beyond his wildest expectations against the Spartans.
52-13 Meeechigan! 17-10 Notre Dame,
I'm guessing that we see a renewed vigor from the offensive line, maybe a Chris Bryant sighting. Two 100 yard rushers, neither named Devin. I can dream.
Michigan 31-10 and ND 24-17
Per TeamRankings, here are the matchup stats for our game:
|Rush Play %||57.56%||38.82%|
|Pass Play %||42.44%||61.18%|
|3D Conv %||51.35%||27.78%|
|RZ Scoring %||85.71%||100.00%|
|Opp Completion %||51.54%||53.57%|
|Opp 3D Conv %||44.68%||26.67%|
|Opp RZ Scoring %||63.64%||
They go with a 90% win probability and a predicted 35-17 score.
Michigan State is getting a 30% probability on the same site with a predicted margin of loss at 5 points (24-19 predicted score).
I see MSU 27-ND 24
UofM 34 Conn 31
Considering Staee have shown 0 to make anyone believe they could keep up with ND, I'd say yea. Scoring 55 on a D2 school doesn't impress me.
M 36, UConn 12
ND 34, Staee 16
Michigan 45 - 17
Frank Clark will have a solid game, prove I'm right that its hard to get pressure on quick short pass teams like ND and Akron. Pass coverage needs to tighten up to allow the dline to break through, no more 7-10 yd deep CBs from the line of scrimmage crap.
We become concerned
ND 310 MSU -3 Sparty's offense is so bad the refs take away points
M 28- Uconn 13
MSU 24 - ND 16
But I think the m game is not as close as it looks and Sparty does well for themselves.
Michigan wins by 14+
Staee loses 23-13
Lil Bro 6
we don't win by less than 30.
Also no way MSU puts much, if anything, on ND.
M 41 - 16
Akron begins fading into the background this week. Wake-up call turns out to be a good thing.
Cook throws a couple picks, but they've committed to staying with him, so othey leave him in. He continues to play bad. He's got some intangibles, but he's not ready yet, and he's inconsistent/inaccurate. Without a running game he'll try to do more than he should and pay for it. Kelly plays it conservative on O, ND controls the game and wins.
M 44 UCONN 17
MSU 23 ND 20
State 10 ND 16
Michigan 41 UCONN 9
Norfleet finally takes one to the house..we finally show a pass rush.
Will not see the end zone.
The f outta here with your 17 pt predictions.
6-12 pts. tops
Michigan will start its opening series a little slow and go three and out, the board will go into full-on meltdown mode, but will start to settle into a groove immediately following. The offense will do its part and Devin will deliver his first turnover free performance. I'm still very concerned about the interior offensive line going forward, and if they can't generate any push tomorrow, how do they expect to have any once Big Ten play hits? I'd take a good look at Funk tomorrow night and if his boys don't show any improvement, well, then we might have a problem with him.
The defense will look alright but that'll be more a product of UConn sucking than anything else. We'll still be wondering tomorrow night where the hell the pass rush is. It was nonexistent last week, and I have my doubts that it'll miraculously appear tomorrow night. Akron's QB had all damn day to sit back in the pocket and pick apart the secondary.
42-17 UM. The ship is righted but the questions on defense still linger.
W/ your 17 pt prediction
But Gardner could keep up his streak of pick six's. I hope it ends here at UCONN!
We do have a lot of offensive weapons, it will just take a few more games to gel. I hope the interior OL will improve here by November along with the DLine putting pressure on the QB! But I think it will all come together by November. I like this team since they do have a lot of potential. They have just got to gel!
Akron was no fluke. UConn 28, Michigan 21.
Brandon fires Hoke, begs Rich Rod and GERG to return, they turn him down. Les Miles turns him down. Mary Sue fures Brandon, hires Kirk Ferentz to run program, and renames Michigan "Iowa."
State 0, ND 0
90,000 fans and millions watching on TV poke out their own eyeballs.
Michigan's 2nd and 3rd team should take care of UCONN!
Michigan - 35 Uconn - 12 expecting that the 2nd string & other backups would see lots of time in the 2nd half and that Hoke would have no strong motivation to run up the score.
After last week, I'm sure the motivation for a big score is there, but I fear that the team will initially be too uptight to play smoothly. So I'll just stay with that and see what happens.
52-10 Michigan over UConn, 24-20 ND over MSU.
I feel like you have to earn the right to predict 30+ point blowouts for your own team. Right now, I haven't seen much that leads me to believe that we will just walk in and hang 50 on these guys. I don't buy into the absurd notion that last Saturday was purely the result of some deficiency in mental preparedness. Maybe it had a little to do with it, but not enough to predict a crazy blowout for an away game against a team that is probably as good or a little better than the one we faced at home last week.
MSU 3 ND 0
prediction: lots of beer, giving all the spartys shit on twitter, a huge mich win. and oh, a northfleet touchdown. talked to him after the game last week when he came out of the tunnel and i told him we were all waiting for him to bust one deep. he looked me dead in the eye and said - next week...guarantee it - so look out for that. he also signed my sons shoe, cuz he said he wants to run as fast as him lol
