Prediction re: coaching change / AD firing
1. The Utah debacle
2. The media frenzy this week following said Utah debacle (SI, rolling stone, gameday, Desmond calling us out, and a ton more)
3. The alleged letter to the regents from former players, the complete and total shit show of this Minny game
4. Oh, I forgot, the ND debacle, since comparatively, it wasn't that bad
5. Morris concussion / injury management
6. Paying Morris when he clearly couldn't move the ball (even prior tithe injury)
7. The players only meeting tomorrow
8. The mattison / Hoke sideline fight
9. The rumored Nuss / Hoke locker room fight
10. The rumored divisions in the locker room (much of which was really evident from our sideline
11. 2013 - all of it (which, while not in the pat 8 days, isn't looking that bad right about now)
What is the prediction from this blog as to whether we see any changes in the coaching staff or AD, and if so, when?
My prediction: firing the ad takes a long time. I expect, though, that Hoke is gone on Monday. They will name either Nuss, mattison or even DB himself as interim and start a search immediately. Hoke's handling of the Morris injury gives DB the perfect excuse to fire hoke and take some heat off for the rest of the season.

Lloyd started this entire chain of events when he and his cronies sabotaged the Michigan roster for RR's entire tenure. Carr brought in a National Championship, but he also destroyed the program because he didn't get to name his successor. Sorry, but I am not giving him a free pass for this, ever.

are you talking about???
September 28th, 2014 at 9:39 AM ^
He brought in a Nationmal Championship with Mo's players.
September 28th, 2014 at 12:19 PM ^
As the defensive coordinator and secondary coach under Mo, he had a role in recruiting a lot of those guys, don't forget.

I would acknowledge without any hard evidence that Lloyd played a part in recruiting some of the players that Moeller brought in. However I have a hard time ackowledging that he played a role in the recruiting of "a lot" of those players without some data to back it up.

The problem with this conspiracy theory is that Carr didn't announce his retirement until November 2007 and that caught Martin off-guard. He and Martin had never discussed his successor before then. So all the "sabotage" he could have done could only have taken place in a couple of weeks.
We know that Carr offered to sign the transfer papers of anyone who wanted to leave, but we can't assume he was being malicious in saying that. After all, it was he who invited RichRod to come here in the first place.

about the football program to have attended today's game. We know he was there because ESPN showed him leaving immediately after watching Hoke not pull Morris out after the hit to his chin.

Do you still have Mike BeBord and Jim Hermann on speed dial?
September 28th, 2014 at 12:14 AM ^
Nuss offense today was so conservative and predictable, it made Mike DeBord look like Kevin Sumlin

Now there was a guy who knew the merits of a good offense.

Moeller has remained a public figure around the program during both the RR and BH eras. He really needs to do little more than to provide a fresh face, discipline, and get them through the end of the season. He certainly knows enough football to know if Nuss is blowing smoke up his arsehole. He used to be Mattison's boss so he could tell him to stop selling snake oil and to get his guys right. Michigan could do far worse for an interim HC.
September 28th, 2014 at 8:33 AM ^
love the idea of Moeller getting a second chance to coach this program. Even if it is for less than a season.

As do I. I think it was BS how he got railroaded out for an alcohol induced lack of judgement. Many coches have made far worse decisions while sober and kept their jobs. Of course it will never happen.

If we can hit one bird with this stone i'm cool with that. You can't always hit two with one.
Other than football most of the sports are doing great.
Brandon has also put so big time game on our schedule down the road.
He just failed horribly with this coach. Hopefully the next coach has a little more spunk.
I'd like to see how Nuss handles the HC job. I'm not sure him and brady are seeing eye to eye.

If Lloyd is AD you can kiss any chance of getting Miles as HC goodbye.

fight(s)?
that seems like a biased word.
I'm all about changing leadership, but let's keep it real. A few coaches arguing is a bit less than a fight.

The handling of Morris after his ankle and possible head injuries today was serious.

Michigan will have to fork over 8M to get a good coach to coach here! I have a feeling they will go for the cheaper retread option of 4M.
September 28th, 2014 at 1:32 AM ^
I wonder if there are any stipulations on proper conduct? If there are the school could argue playing Shane after the hit to the head was negligent and fire him with cause and not having to pay any buyout.
Atleast thats what my non-lawyer, purely conjecture, insomniac brain is thinking at 1:30am.

Are there any Hoke guys still out there? I havent' come across one. In fact my OSU friends have been feeling bad for michigan for awhile but now I have my Notre dame and MSU friends feeling bad as well. Guess what, this is a MAC team cus we got a MAC coach.
September 28th, 2014 at 8:08 AM ^
What did he have one good year in the MAC? I wouldn't want him coaching my kids HS team. I remember when Jerry Kill and Brian Kelly were both coaching in the GLIAC at the FCS level. Both have totally outcoached Joke this year.

beating the snot out of us at home is far worse than any loss to MSU and OSU! We of course will get stomped in those games.

What happens first this season:
-Hoke gets fired
-Captains get named
September 27th, 2014 at 11:31 PM ^
If its what we want, I think Hoke should have been fired in the tunnel on his way back to the locker room after the game today.
Brandon is such a schmuck that I have no idea what will actually happen. What the school NEEDS to do is fire both Hoke AND Brandon as quickly as possible, but I'm not sure how you run the Athletic Department wihout an AD. I believe Brandon has managed to get rid of everyone in the AD who had experience and replace them with his sycophants, so who would be left to run things if he was just booted out the door?
