Pre-Game Bar - Ann Arbor
For the first time in years, I am not tailgating before a game. I plan to head to a bar for food, drinks and the noon games (before heading to the stadium.
Can anyone provide any feedback on the following options for a game day:
1. Packard Pub - (location, location, location)
2. Skeepers - (oldie, but a goodie)
3. Leopold - (Is it stil open?)
Thanks.

Not lamented by me at all, either.

... that's why I prefer the Village Bell...

I agree, the beer was bad, the space was unusual in an a-social sort of way. But I did rather like their gin.

Ok, I haven't been to Packard Pub since the first couple weeks it was open, but when I went the food wasn't good, the drink specials weren't cheap, and the atmosphere wasn't great. Not sure how they'll do on a game day, but wasn't my favorite place. And yes, Leopold's is closed now. As is Mitch's (twice).

Go drink a boot at the Heidelberg!

I know a lot of people used to hate Charley's, but after they reopened in 2004 or so, it's been solid. Cheap drinks (liquor, shitty beer and good stuff like Magic Hat #9 and Bell's on tap), good food (pepperoni sticks are the usual favorite, but the salads are surprisingly tasty), and lots of large HD tvs. There is seating outside, which is nice in the summer, but no tvs out there. It's a younger crowd usually, but it may be more of a mix on game day, I'm not sure

They also have a new menu as of a couple weeks ago, both drinks and food.

*Sigh*
I miss Ann Arbor...

The Blue Leprechaun replaced Touchdown's, and it's really nice. The basement is really chill, the drink specials are good, lots of TVs, and the food is solid. I haven't been there on a game day, but I bet it'd be a good time.

They have a ton of new long islands, such as the Tokyo ice tea, all the premium long island fishbowls are siignificantly cheaper. A lot of new sandwiches and wraps. And they have late night specials where long islands drop in price to under 5 bucks. Basically cheaper and more variety.

That sounds awesome

It is pretty awesome. It's probably my favorite campus-side bar in A2, and it's still under-appreciated, so it's usually not over crowded like Charley's gets.

But the Blue Lep is cool too. I haven't been gone too long; it opened my senior year. Graduation night a couple friends and I enjoyed some cigars in Red's Room in the basement, though I guess you can't do that in MI anymore

I was at the Packard Pub yesterday for the first time, and it seems like a good place to watch a game. A ton of TV's, and a lot of bar space.

Be a man and wander the streets drinking the last bits of beer out of discarded Busch Light cans. It's not as bad as you think.
