As always, the game will get its own thread tonight. But for those that are too excited to wait...here's a thread for us to discuss today's game.

I was in Atlanta for the weekend but had to fly back this morning for work. The Michigan bar is Gibney's Pub which is on Peachtree Center Ave directly behind the Mariott Marquis. It's bright red, very hard to miss. Get yourself there and stay put.
The festivities are at Olympic Park. $7 beers and all kinds of food options - and there are some excellent food trucks parked in a semi-circle across the street from the park entrance where the t-shirt vendors are. I had a grilled lamb hoagie at one of the trucks that was outstanding.

Also, when I say "bad," I mean "not helping me be any more productive."
The breakdown from alot of talking heads is pretty similar to the previous rounds. Michigan is facing a team with a dominating defense, bla, bla, bla........I think our current and future NBA talent wins out.

Though it may be obvious, I found a stunningly good way to shut up my trash-talking Sparty co-workers: ask them what time their game is.
I am a supreme lurker. I am so fricken' excited though...I don't know what else to do with myself!
I feel the exact same way. To be so close and not succeed will be tough. Who knows when Beilein will be back in this same position. I trust he'll keep the program good, but he has right now quite the amazing collection of talent that is playing at some their best of the entire season. And whether we win or lose, we may lose most all of it at the end of this year. It would be tough to come this far and not have that banner.
The last time I felt like this was the day of game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Hopefully this one goes my way, though.
I punched a hole in my wall that night. I'm more mature now (and I own my current residence) so I won't do that tonight. But I'll still be sad.
I think the key to this game is whether Michigan hits run stopping shots. L'ville's danger comes from their ability put together quick 6-0, 8-0 runs. If we can stop them from hitting 3 straight shots more than a couple times, I like our chances. But looking at their last couple games, they can erase leads and create gaps quickly. Hopefully, our responsibility with the ball continues (knock on wood). If so, we'll get shots up, it's a matter of making them.
This is kind of nit picky but I wish that they could just say "Michigan vs. Louisville" in graphics instead of "4 Michigan vs. 1 Louisville". I don't know why but it bothers me....this is the championship game..seeds don't matter anymore. To me it only makes sense within the regions. Once you get to the Final Four it shouldn't matter.

...is the time AFTER work. Being home for 3-4 hours before the game is going to be hell.
I actually really wish I was working today. Sitting at home waiting for this thing to start is going to be so agonizingly long! I'm also a nervous wreck just pacing around and coming back to Mgoblog every few minutes. 8:30 (I'm in central time zone) can not get here fast enough!

I'm still trying to figure out a way to get my wife out of the house. Last game, especially in the second half when it got tense, she decided to up the annoyance. How tall is he? Do they always wear that color uniform? Why are they so angry? Wait, why does it keep stopping? That guy is cute. etc etc. Me, being super sick and miserable as well, had a hard time keeping my cool. I kept trying to yell at the tv but my voice is hoarse. It was way to close for me at the end there. I am going to be a wreck today, sitting around in my pjs drinking hot chocolate and playing NCAA 13 until 930.

.. of work today. Told them the truth. Michigan is in the National Championship and there's no way I can do my job effectively. Good thing I'm one of the best they have or might be out of a job come Tuesday... and if I am, totally worth it !!
At work here in Cleveland, Ohio. I'm wearing my ever-so-stylish Michigan warm-up jacket over the top of my always popular navy blue M polo shirt.
So far today I've gotten at least five "Go Blue's" from die-hard Buckeyes with a wink and a "I'll deny I ever did that after today" and multiple emails from OSU faithful wishing us luck tonight and imploring M to win this for the B1G.
I plan to leave here around 1:00, go work out with the avatar and get the house ready for the party tonight (all my kids are coming over as well as three or four friends). Already put my partner on notice to NOT expect tomorrow before noon at the earliest!

I still think the conference needs Michigan to win this, but the B1G is 14-6 right now and the Big East is 12-7. Even if Louisville wins, the B1G would have a better record in the tournament than the Big East.
I just want us to have a better record than Louisville.

the "1989 nerves" are starting to return. Thinking about watching Rumeal at the free throw line all those years ago turns my stomach into knots again. But, I have a good feeling about tonight. Michigan seems to have a ton of momentum and positive energy right now. GO BLUE!!!
1. Be patient with the press and don't turn the ball over (see VCU game - we did a great job by letting THJ bring the ball up, he could see and pass over their guards).
2. Play YOUR game! Don't get caught up trying to do things you don't do. Should we put THJ in the post vs. the small Smith or Siva? Sure. Maybe. But that's not what got us here. Just play your game. Don't overthink and try to do something you don't do.
3. D UP! Our defense will stop them from pressing...this needs to be our best DEFENSIVE EFFORT of the year. No question.
4. ATTACK Smith and Siva - L'Ville coaches admitted they went zone vs. Wichita St. because they were afraid Smith and Siva would get into foul trouble and Ware was out. If they're going to play tentative...attack them. Get to the basket if they're afraid to foul. Treat it like they already have 4 fouls.
5. Switch up the defense if man-to-man isn't working. They like to give different looks...we can do the same. Don't be afraid to go zone and force them to make shots. If they do, tip your hand and go back to man. But if they're going to chuck up bricks...rebound them and head the other way.
Another thought: This is not a typical college crowd, communication shouldn't be an issue. With this press, we better be yelling "MAN OFF!" as soon as someone leaves to go trap. This will be a far cry from playing @ IU.

Just finished working for the day (5am shift lol). I am now trying to talk myself out of going to my EKG class today. Anyone want to help give me more reasons not to go?
Does anyone know another source that possibly sells out of stock MDen gear? I am looking to pick up the Making The Cut Final Four (ClimaLITE) t shirt and the MDen is all out.. I called this morning and they told me they are all sold out..

I briefly met Zack Novak at Gribley's in Atlanta yesterday. It was subs.
