odd he didn't have his leg flat when carted off. hope its just a sprained knee.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:39 PM ^
but it looked like they were doing the Lachman test on him when they cut away to commercials... hopefully his ACL isn't torn.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:41 PM ^
He was carted off. Not a good sign
October 5th, 2013 at 8:51 PM ^
Was he carted off once he got to the sideline?
I think R. Glasgow and Henry helped him off the field.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:58 PM ^
he was carted off of the field during a stoppage in play after he had been helped to the sideline.
October 5th, 2013 at 9:06 PM ^
knee wrapped in ice and bandage and have the leg not flat but dangling off the cart for a serious injury. I found that odd if it was serious to have his leg not supported
October 5th, 2013 at 7:43 PM ^
I know I'm an old "Get Off My Lawn!" type but it seems flippant to have the title of this thread to be a #hashtag when it concerns such a serious injury.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:47 PM ^
Stop being a troll.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:49 PM ^
self-censored
October 5th, 2013 at 7:49 PM ^
Eh, Louisville used the #prayforware to draw favorable pity calls from officials all the way to a national title.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:00 PM ^
Still the most gruesome sports injury I have ever seen.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:16 PM ^
Relevant to Marley's comment; he didn't like a hastag being used for what he called such a "serious injury" I simply pointed out that Louisville did it for what I agree was a much worse injury. Also, although I barely understand them, the kids seem to love to use these hashtag things for everything these days.
EDIT: Perhaps the part where I mentioned the pity calls obscured my main point, I'm still bitter about that game. Main point is, Louisville created the hashtag for a much worse injury so I don't really see the harm in the OP doing the same.
October 6th, 2013 at 12:54 AM ^
Whether or not another team also used #hashtag has nothing to do with the agrument that it should not be used that way.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:55 PM ^
I'm concerned about our players' health as much as anyone, but I wouldn't mind if the OP amended the thread title.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:53 PM ^
Nice to see you again Stevie! It's been too long!
October 5th, 2013 at 9:52 PM ^
I'm hoping for the best, but the thread title and "candlelight vigil" in the OP strike me as crass and making light of the injury.
October 6th, 2013 at 10:41 AM ^
Seems like a really petty thing to complain about.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:49 PM ^
For whatever reason I seem to dislike ASU more than ND.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:53 PM ^
There is almost nothing I hate in this world more than Notre Dame. It's not even just the football team -- I despise them as an institution.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:59 PM ^
I still find myself watching though; hoping for them to lose horrifically. I like me some schadenfreude.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:15 PM ^
Ohio we all know is a football factory community college. And they have beaten us like a drum over the past decade. So I despise them, but they dont have that sanctimonious self-righteous BS you get with ND, and their shit talking based on recent results is justified. ND I despise more as they are delusional and hypocritical, much like the Catholic church to which they are affiliated.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:33 PM ^
Good thing that wasn't offensive. Since when is it okay to insult others' religions on this board?
October 5th, 2013 at 8:37 PM ^
Dude needs to learn that no one here wants to read his anti-Catholic bullshit.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:48 PM ^
It might not be the place for it but I won't complain.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:50 PM ^
How nice to know.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:53 PM ^
That's probably the best course of action a lot of the time.
October 5th, 2013 at 9:05 PM ^
Didn't say anything.
October 6th, 2013 at 5:34 AM ^
So BILG has his road trip partner to Bolivia
October 5th, 2013 at 9:23 PM ^
So we can bash PSU as an institution for being blind to the Sandusky shit but I can't call out the Catholic church for ignoring the molestation of children for decades? This was not a bashing of faith, race, or religion. It was a snide comment, not bigotry.
October 5th, 2013 at 9:51 PM ^
I actually agree with you, and laugh at those who reflexively cry bigotry rather than acknowledging the problems with the organization to which they belong.
This doesn't change your questionable choice of venue.
October 5th, 2013 at 10:08 PM ^
in your next installment please list your stereotypical, broadbrush grievances against Jewish and Muslim faiths.
Don't have any? That means you're a bigot.
October 5th, 2013 at 10:15 PM ^
Actually, I have plenty of problems with each. It's not clear how that's relevant, or frankly how that would absolve me from being a bigot. This is clearly a very emotional issue for you, so there's no sense discussing it (hence the policy).
October 5th, 2013 at 10:23 PM ^
Shut the hell up dude. There are plenty of message boards that love political and religious debate. This is not one of them. What the fuck, this board sucks as bad as espn lately. Anyone know where all the funny, informative and insightful posters went?
October 5th, 2013 at 10:28 PM ^
Replying to this string of comments is probably a bad idea. RowoneEndzone is right in the above post, just take it all somewhere else.
October 5th, 2013 at 10:34 PM ^
that you don't see the link.
And I'm not concerned with illuminating it for you. Just don't want to hear you vent those views here. So let's focus on where we agree: this isn't the place for it.
October 6th, 2013 at 10:45 AM ^
I understood what you were getting at, but you worded it as bashing the religion and not the administrators of that religion who covered up those crimes.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:52 PM ^
Just not something that we want to see on the board.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:57 PM ^
politics or religion. Why don't some people understand that?
October 5th, 2013 at 9:15 PM ^
total, blind, absolute bigotry is "just not something we want to see on the board"
Nice strong stand you're taking there.
October 5th, 2013 at 9:25 PM ^
The statement was accurate and let everyone know that the comment wasn't being ignored, which was its purpose. Nobody said anything about going out on a limb or there being some kind of heroic, out there stance on the topic.
October 5th, 2013 at 9:36 PM ^
needs to be met with something harsher than disinterested censure
October 5th, 2013 at 9:43 PM ^
Bolivia happened whether I commented or not, it happened whether I used the strongest or weakest words I could type. It was already done.
I replied to show that I had seen the comment and done what the board customarily does with such comments, not to call someone out or e-yell about an inappropriate comment.
October 5th, 2013 at 10:01 PM ^
your reply did not indicate bolivia or any other action. It implied muted and mild disapproval.
October 5th, 2013 at 10:08 PM ^
It was noted and dealt with on this end and I didn't think a comment that might inflame things would have any real upside.
October 5th, 2013 at 10:13 PM ^
ugh. The whole thing sucks, it always does in this vein. I'm probably oversensitive but such is the nature of these things. Thanks for clarifying
October 5th, 2013 at 9:58 PM ^
BILG haz them
October 5th, 2013 at 8:42 PM ^
Not smart dude. I hope you are drunk so I can forgive you. Otherwise you are...well I will just stop there.
October 5th, 2013 at 9:16 PM ^
I've just always wanted to change someone's avatar as the result of an unfortunate remark which results in a trip to Bolivia.
October 6th, 2013 at 3:17 AM ^
My problem with your post? You ended it with "the Catholic Church to which they are affiliated." You are affiliated with something, not to something. You wouldn't say "Notre Dame is affiliated to the Catholic Church." You would say "affiliated with the Catholic Church." As someone who baptized his son into the Catholic Church just this past Sunday I have other issues as well, but if you're going to bash someone's religion, at least use proper grammar. And then go fuck your own mouth.
October 7th, 2013 at 3:09 PM ^
Again, for those calling this a bigoted statement, it is not. Am I anti PSU for calling out that institution for covering up Sandusky's actions? I simply did the same thing for the Catholic church as an institution...this was not meant to be a religious commentary about faith, religion, race, etc. I can understand how this could be percieved as offensive, but it was not meant to be as I see institutions and personal beliefs as two very seperat things. For those annoyed that I alluded to a religious/political topic which should not be on the board, I agree...off topic and point taken.
