Prather to Florida

no link yet, but everyone appears to be reporting it. If nothing else, just read headlines at The Fort.

The only sources noted were the Fox Sports one, and UMHoops (which cites Fox Sports). Fox Sports cites only "sources." Here's the entire thing:

"Sources tell FOXSports.com that Scout.com's No. 55 player in the country, wing Casey Prather, will commit to Florida on Wednesday."

I'm clearly short-handed (I don't even know what "The Fort" - that source you relied on - is) but I'm not sold 100%. Generic "sources" aren't even as reliable as those "sources close to the program" that told us Les Miles was our next football coach.

It will be official when it's, you know, official. Like when Casey says so.

Until then, let me hold onto my shred of hope and rely on my trusty friends Dumb and Dumber:

Lloyd: What do you think the chances are of a guy like you and a girl like me... ending up together?

Mary: Well, Lloyd, that's difficult to say. I mean, we don't really...

Lloyd: Hit me with it! Just give it to me straight! I came a long way just to see you, Mary. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?

Mary: Not good.

Lloyd: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?

Mary: I'd say more like one out of a million.

[pause]

Lloyd: So you're telling me there's a chance... *YEAH!*

Would have been a nice get, if only for program perception (not to mention people seem to think he'll be a pretty good player on the court). Can't really blame him for wanting to play under a coach that has been to three NCAA Finals and won two national titles. Also, UM can't offer the opportunity for Prather to be circumcised by Tim Tebow himself.

Wish the kid all the best (though I hope our guys play well enough over the next few years to make him regret the decision just a little bit).

Would've loved to see you as a Wolverine...that being said, can't blame you for going to Florida. They've been as good as any program over the past few years....plus the weather, palm trees and southern girls don't hurt either. In any case, Good luck to ya kid...

I can't wait until Beilien builds a program that makes him regret his decision...not that I wish any ill will, but I believe that Coach B will build the envy of the country.

Go Blue.

Any guess on the number of new posts this will cause? I'll go with three. This one, one in the morning first thing, one a few days from now.

I'm really impressed at his haul. We have a top-15 class right now; if we're lucky, we land Ziegler and move in to a top-5 class (potentially) with just one tourney appearance in more than a decade.
