Since asking about whether Stonum was in jail seems like such a provocation, wouldn't it be a weird coincidence, if "Govt Franzen" turned out to be a screen name for Tom Franzen, the Administrator for the Department of Economic Development for the City of Springfield, Ohio.

Here's the Springfield city government page that features Tom Franzen:

http://www.ci.springfield.oh.us/depts/ed.htm

And here's his LinkedIn page:

Like, who knows if it might be true?  I suppose the only way to find out might be to email Tom Franzen's boss, Springfield City Manager Jim Bodenmiller, and find out if Mr. Franzen was trashtlaking Michigan underclassmen from a city computer:

[email protected]

Or, maybe Springfield's Mayor, Warren Copeland might know (I think Mayor Copeland's email might go through an assistant):

[email protected]

Then again, perhaps the local newspaper can find out.  In Springield, that would be the Springfield News-Sun:

I'm glad it's not too hot up there in Ann Arbor.  It's around this time of the year that I worry about players getting heat stroke.  I had a flight yesterday and it was over 130 degrees on the tarmac!  After that flight (which included a number of high G aerobatics), I'm pretty sure I'm not in shape to play D-1 football.  Good to see the team working hard.  September 4th can't come soon enough! (Now that we are flying 6 days a week here, I put in for leave on September 4th, just so I wouldn't get scheduled to fly!)

Interesting that one of the photos had Huyge lined up at LT.  I obviously want the best guy at the position to  protect our QB's blind side, but I was hoping that Lewan would seize that position and never let it go.  Not that one photo from the first day in full pads means much.

With four guys (Lewan, Dorrestein, Huyge, Schofeld) competing for two tackle spots, the coaches are probably looking at different combinations. If they love Lewan and Dorrestein, they might be looking at sliding Perry to RT and having Huyge back up Lewan. Or they might be considering what to do if someone gets hurt later in the year and they have to shuffle the line-up.  Or they wanted to see what Huyge looked like next to Schilling.  Or he just got bored on the right side, and he wanted to see what things looked like from the other side of the formation.  There are a billion possible reasons, so we'll just have to wait to see things unfold.

With that said, good catch.  It could be nothing, or it could be a HUGE thing. We shall soon see.

I really liked one of the photos on their with Fitz Toussaint and Vincent Smith in the same huddle. The thought of Denard, Vince, and Fitz in the backfield at one time is insane.

Anybody know what's up with those guys? Who are they - volunteers? Why are they there? I've seen them around before but finally got around to asking.
