Practice Log Problem Fixed According to RR

This was on a Columbus radio station with Chris Spielman.
By sadly, I am referring to the state of Detroit-area reporting/ media.

you beat me to it. The fact that the most level-headed reporting is coming out of Columbus is truly sad.

are to worried about website hits and selling papers to report the correct news. how easy would it have been for the detroit news to pick up a phone and call to ask some questions??? what makes it even worse is that the people that don't know the full story are just going to think that RR is covering stuff up, instead of listening to the facts.

It's why I've tried to stop even reading the Freep and the News. I've almost converted completely to just this site and a few other blogs, WTKA1050AM, and that's about it...The negative comments from people who just don't understand what they are talking about depresses me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when it's in the media it should be factual...

I don't read the comment fields of mlive or a2.com anymore. I just put my opinion in and move on. And I usually don't read every word of the articles, either, preferring to skim over the filler. Sadly, there is a lot of filler in all of them right now.
Starting with Brian, I could probably name ten people here who are doing a better job than any of the A2/Detroit MSM are right now. I almost hesitate to name anyone in fear of leaving someone out, but Misopogon, Sharik, Magnus, and Tom VH are exponentially more insightful and informative than anyone at mlive, A2.com, or the freep, as are the VB guys who came over here.
As for the News, I will still give Angelique a free pass; she "gets" UM football and does a nice job on NASCAR, too. But I still prefer mgoblog and umhoops over anything connected with the area's MSM coverage.

i'm tired of defending the program/RR to people who have claimed to be "DIE HARD" fans. they take what is said on the radio (97.1) and believe it to be the truth when all they are doing is reading straight from the paper. terry foster always refers the "michigan mafia" is that just his way of saying that he is making shit up, or is really a "michigan mafia"???
as for the papers, they are nothing but tabloids now, so there is no helping them...

Also, they are focusing on defensive recruiting per RR. Good news.

Hopefully, the issue has been resolved.
Always liked Spielman (despite his Buckeye roots). Best color commentator on television and a former Lion, gotta give him props for that. Interesting to see his comments regarding Harbaugh. Would definitely spike the intensity of this rivalry. Although, I'll take a win this Saturday.

how an actual linebackers coach interacts with his players, but it's always remarkable to me the almost throwaway analysis he has about linebackers (throwaway in the sense that it seems so second nature to him he doesn't even focus on it). in an instant he can diagnose why a LB failed on a particular play, took a bad angle, took a step upfield when he should've moved laterally, didn't get pad level low enough, didn't react to a pulling guard or unique formation, etc. the guy seems like he'd make a tremendous LB coach.

stuck out to me too, bacon, the Harbaugh comments. Spielman seems to imply there that either RR doesn't fully understand it yet, or perhaps can't quite or never will at the level a former player can.

but I think he's still miffed / disappointed he didn't get more of a sniff when Marinelli was hired... he kind of put it out there that he wanted to come back to Detroit to help the Lions, and I think he may have gotten turned off to coaching during that activity.
His analysis of defensive play is outstanding where he actually point out who missed assignments (sometimes you can hear him say it during the play, "Mike's got to fill that hole!") to led to the big play, not just "OOH PANCAKE SMASH GOOD RUN!" like that fat SOB Siragusa

It's unfortunate that two of my favorite color guys went to that pit of a school. I enjoy Herbstreit (although he has been a dousche at times) and at least Spielman was a Lion. Desmond Howard has at least been bearable recently, but I have to admit that Jimmy King may be the worst color commentator I've ever heard.

And Matt Millen is still a good commentator too.
At least Brian Griese seems like he has potential as a commentator.

Once again I am reminded why I come to this INFORMATIVE, RESEARCHED, and KNOWLEDGEABLE website for all of my Michigan needs
