Possible Silent Commit

Submitted by B Edwards 17 on

Just saw over on the Michigan Football Recruiting page on Facebook, someone says we now have a silent commit on the offensive side of the ball. Not a new name either.

Anyone know who it is? I am guessing it is most likely Jordan Payton. Maybe Bri'onte?

We need to spread her reign to longer than a week. Yikes, opening that picture up at work is a tad dangerous! I hope no one noticed my jaw drop; I had a flashback to when I was a kid gazing at a Playboy I snuck in the house with my folks watching t.v. in the living room...

I'll wait until something a little more concrete than Michigan Football Recuriting's facebook page.

And nobody is going to know who the Silent Commit is (if there is one).  Any names will just be guesses.

Total speculation, but I have this gut feeling that Dunn will end up in Ann Arbor. From what I read on the blog, it looks like we've backed off of him in the recruiting sense, but I really think he's coming to A2 with Kalis. I think the coaching staff knows this, and they are permitting him to wait to announce or sayign anything about it until he wants to announce. It will be signing day or one of the high school all star games. Like I said this is just a gut feeling, but its one that makes sense.

My one "concern" (I don't actually get all that concerned about where some 18 y/o decides to play CFB, but you get the idea) is that Dunn has apparently decided to NOT enroll early. I tend to interpret this as being a reaction to the continued slow leak of sh*t coming out of Columbus which will likely delay the penalty announcement for OSU.

I think Dunn reeeeaaly wants to go to OSU and is waiting for clarity on the penalties they will receive. Delaying his decision from December to February gives him more time to see the fallout at OHIO. If they get nuked (as they deserve), then he will probably end up a Wolverine, otherwise I think he is all Buckeye.

Just my completely uninformed take on the subject.

Most likely Payton, he favors M and has been thinking about canceling his other visits and just commiting, so it makes sense. Not sure why it would be silent though. If Dunn were to commit, it would probably be silent at first given how people in Ohio would treat him, but there hasen't been as much news on him lately.

I don't feel a bit guilty about waiting until they are verbose.

Disclaimer - if they become too verbose during the process, I reserve my  pryor right to think they might be a better fit elsewhere.

A 2012 OL. Kind of late in the game to offer but does anyone know who this guy is. Could be a mutual thing. He wants to come to UM but UM didn't know it, or a decommit who wants to get on board. Anyone heard anything? Maybe it's him.

You're right that if we waited this late in the game to send out our first offer, we'd be in trouble.  But this is not late in the game for kids to get an offer.  I'm not sure Frank Clark or Desmond Morgan had offers at this point last year, but they are both getting PT as true frosh (Morgan even started a game).  In fact, I'm not even sure if Taylor Lewan was offered at this point his year.  This stuff happens, and it's not late.
