Possible recruiting relevance: FCAT problems in Florida

Submitted by Tater on

This may or many not affect the Demar Dorsey drama, but results for the test that FL HS students must pass to graduate is being delayed, in some cases, up to six weeks, due to an apparent lack of competence on the part of the testing agency.  Here's the link:

I wish people would stop speaking so definitively on this topic or at least mention whether it is their "gut feeling" or they have been told by someone on the inside.

I don't care if it is something Brian or Sam Webb said, both have proven over the past year that their "guts" are prone to mistake. It is fine if you trust everything they say and count it as gospel, but some here don't.

Just elaborate as to how you have drawn this conclusion so people reading can see how you came to it and decide whether they want to agree with it or not.

Coming out and simply making a statement like that and passing it off as fact without any justification doesn't add anything to the conversation.

So please, tell me how you are so sure of this please?

Assuming any recruit gets past the Clearinghouse and graduation issues, do they go to the admissions for review? Does Michigan have their own set of requirements for students on athletic scholarships?

"...the state opted to have the writing tests this year graded by one person instead of two."

ALL Florida HS seniors were to have their writing tests graded by ONE person? How many thousands of HS seniors do you suppose FLA has? How all these tests could be graded by even twenty people is beyond me.
