Possible Kalis slip-up regarding Dunn

Submitted by Marcus818 on
In an interview with The Wolverine (behind paywall), Kalis has an interesting quote. Could be nothing, but it feels like something. "It was just the great family atmosphere at Michigan. All the kids in the class … I'm close with Tom [Strobel] and Bri'onte [Dunn] - Bri'onte's not in the class, but I'm close with all these guys. Chris Wormley, all these guys - Maggs [Erig Magnuson]. The coaches - it just felt like a family there. It felt like home." http://michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1277312

The inclusion of Dunn can be looked at as Kalis slipping up and throwing Dunn in there because he knows Dunn is going to commit at some point. Kalis then had to awkwardly cover his tracks. That's one way to look at it. I don't think it is something to pay a lot of attention to, but could be telling.

if I was a highly recruited football talent out of Ohio. And I was being pressured to attend tsio but had designs to go North to the land of good and plenty and play football for coach Hoke. Yet I feared blow back from that decision. I might wait until the last possible minute to make known my intentions to avoid all the uncomfortable conversation I know would ensue.

Edit: This post was intended to flame anyone it was meant to provide some hope that we may still prevail in the pursuit of Mr. Dunn's services.

I said this in the other thread, but if anything is going to happen with Dunn, I expect to be fairly close to signing day.  I think he saw how bad Kalis got it and he probably doesn't want to go through the same thing.  This is assuming he decides to switch, which is still uncertain.

FYI...TomVH (I'm ESPN Insider) still maintains that Dunn is trying to be an EE. He has one class he has to make up in order to do so and is working on it. TomVH has also talked to Brionte and his Dad recently about recruiting....To say the least, they're not thrilled with how osu looks. The Dunn's were at the sparty game in c-bus, were disgusted and asked TomVH when the next Michigan home game was immediately following the game for a possible visit.

Sorry if this has been repeated in other threads, but I constantly see that there's no way he's an EE which per TomVH isn't the case.

After seeing the treatment Kalis got, I wouldn't be surprised if Dunn has already decided to go to Michigan, but doesn't want anyone to know until he enrolls early.

speaking from the heart and it slipped out how strongly he wants for Brionte to join him at Michigan.   Would hate for the board to misread this and put any additional undue pressure on either of these kids.

Based on past observations of high school recruits, I expect there will be several more twists and turns, many unexpected, with Brionte's recruitment.  My opinion and my opinion only, but I'd speculate chances are 35% tsio, 35% UM, 15% PSU, 15% Other.   Hope he's Blue.
