step 5- Profit?
"Bri'onte's not in the class"
This statement is just as valid as anything else he said.
Fair, but the question wasn't "tell me about your relationship with other UM commits and one OSU commit." it's interesting Dunn was thrown in there.
The inclusion of Dunn can be looked at as Kalis slipping up and throwing Dunn in there because he knows Dunn is going to commit at some point. Kalis then had to awkwardly cover his tracks. That's one way to look at it. I don't think it is something to pay a lot of attention to, but could be telling.
I liked our chances better when he was planning on being an EE. Not saying he's not going to see the light, but why put up with all the BS from signing day until you leave for campus if you already know that is what you are planning to do.
if I was a highly recruited football talent out of Ohio. And I was being pressured to attend tsio but had designs to go North to the land of good and plenty and play football for coach Hoke. Yet I feared blow back from that decision. I might wait until the last possible minute to make known my intentions to avoid all the uncomfortable conversation I know would ensue.
Edit: This post was intended to flame anyone it was meant to provide some hope that we may still prevail in the pursuit of Mr. Dunn's services.
It makes no sense to mention Dunn.
There is no reason to mention his name, unless there is.
Kalis has a decided schematic advantage on this one!
That is what I was thinking when I first read that quote. It would make sense in that context, but I hope it is because Dunn is a silent commit. (you know, like he doesn't want to go public until after his season is over).
sounds like he is trying to cover his ass there.
Let the speculation begin!
Beat you to it, but just barely.
Reading between the lines of what high schoolers say is a fool's errand.
Well then shut down MGoBlog!
How else would I learn about how evil the Free Press is?
let Section 1 be a regular contributor at TTB?
I suggest checking out Section 1's e-book manifesto, "Satan, Hitler and Michael Rosenberg: The Three Pillars of Evil."
It's not a bad read.
I find reading into High Schoolers motivations and phraseology to be a telling, accurate and overall profitable use of time.
Every "friend and mentor" to potential OSU athletes
He said what we think he said...which is...um??
I said this in the other thread, but if anything is going to happen with Dunn, I expect to be fairly close to signing day. I think he saw how bad Kalis got it and he probably doesn't want to go through the same thing. This is assuming he decides to switch, which is still uncertain.
He plans to EE though, so he'll need to decide within about two months.
he is not an EE anymore according to Sam Webb
Sad. There was a time when a recruit "EE"'d, it meant he was going into Electrical Engineering
I assumed it meant "Dunn goes to Michigan, and we all go EEEEEEEEEEEEEE..."
FYI...TomVH (I'm ESPN Insider) still maintains that Dunn is trying to be an EE. He has one class he has to make up in order to do so and is working on it. TomVH has also talked to Brionte and his Dad recently about recruiting....To say the least, they're not thrilled with how osu looks. The Dunn's were at the sparty game in c-bus, were disgusted and asked TomVH when the next Michigan home game was immediately following the game for a possible visit.
Sorry if this has been repeated in other threads, but I constantly see that there's no way he's an EE which per TomVH isn't the case.
If he were stil going to EE, wouldn't Christmas break be a perfect time to do it? Most osu students will be gone and it will be a great present to us all.
Technically Dunn is in the class, just not Michigan's.
But the question Mike Farrell asked him was discuss why he chose Michigan, and Kalis responded with that answer. The question wasn't just about his class in general, but Michigan's class.
Stay tClassless Columbus. No Dunn for you!
I watched the interview in question and it did seem like Dunn is a foregone conclusion in his mind.
Oooh a rare Brian board posting!
Especially because it means Dunn is coming! Or at least in Kalis's opinion he is.
He Has Spoken!
Whoa, I don't know if Brian wants photos of him on his honeymoon out there like this.
Definitely sounds that way when you hear it in context. I wouldn't be surprised if Dunn has already expressed his plans to some of the U-M commits and coaches. We certainly don't seem to be pushing hard for any other RBs.
When you say "foregone conclusion," is that "he knows Dunn isn't going to commit and it really was just a slip of the tongue," or is that "he knows Dunn is going to commit and it's just a matter of time before it's announced to the public?"
Is Cryptic Brian being cryptic?
BOOM TomVH referenc'd
Damn! This is exactly why I hate talking to the media.
and with no real "info" to go on, I've always had one of them "gut-feeling" things on Dunn. For some reason, I just think he's going to come to Michigan.
After seeing the treatment Kalis got, I wouldn't be surprised if Dunn has already decided to go to Michigan, but doesn't want anyone to know until he enrolls early.
speaking from the heart and it slipped out how strongly he wants for Brionte to join him at Michigan. Would hate for the board to misread this and put any additional undue pressure on either of these kids.
Based on past observations of high school recruits, I expect there will be several more twists and turns, many unexpected, with Brionte's recruitment. My opinion and my opinion only, but I'd speculate chances are 35% tsio, 35% UM, 15% PSU, 15% Other. Hope he's Blue.
rational posts like this have no place in recruiting threads.
It is irresponsible not to.
pretty sure all he is saying is that he's become good friends with bri'onte, and then reiterated that dunn wasn't commited here, i wouldn't read that much into this except that kalis really wants him to sign with us
Would love to see Dunn pull the trigger and go blue......I guess we won't hear much until after the HS football season is over, I would expect the kids want to focus on finishing up their seasons first.
Dunn, Payton, 1 more WR (hopefully Darboh because I think thats Manningham/Arrington part 2), and 1 more OLmen.
It's no secret that Kalis has been working on recruiting Dunn since this summer. This could simply be a case of wishful thinking. Anyhow, my preference would be for Dunn to switch his commitment immediately after Michigan knocks Ohio out of bowl contention thus leaving that program in flames
hate to ask due to potential of being ridiculed.. but what's EE??
EE = Early Enrollee?
