Some more media bringing to light the lack of any findings with the investigation. Analogy of the kid with straight A's sent to principal's office to show everyone else that the NCAA is serious. A good read. Went back a couple pages and didn't see anything about this, if so, my apologies.

edit: another story via rivals, this one directly attacking the Freep.

When I read these things, it really makes me wonder if a major media outlet will ever pick something like this up and point them out.  I'm so sick of explaining to my friends the truth because everyone thinks it is so much worse than it is due to the Freep's original story.

Does anyone from this blog, or even Brian, have any chance of contact from Rosenberg?  I am just curious what he would say to Michgan's statement that the media reports were exaggerated or flat out false.  I would love to hear his comment.

but would you not expect the Freep to cater to the thousands of M alum that would potentially read their paper? Perhaps they could print more pictures and use a bigger font and go after the MSU reader, but thats another subject all together.

I'd be willing to bet that MSU alumni make up a higher percentage of the Freep's readership than Michigan alumni. The reason for this is that a much higher percentage of Michigan students leave the state after graduation than MSU students.

For some reason, I'm sure I got the link to it from MGoBoard or one of Brian's posts, but I could be mistaken. It was a good one, I'll give you that.

The more, the better.  Wherever, whenever.  Get a simple message, and repeat it. And repeat, and repeat.

As long as "Michigan" and "NCAA" are being used in the same sentence, the very next sentence, in every conversation in the world of college football, ought to contain the words "dubious" and "Detroit Free Press."
