Poor Nebraska

I almost feel sorry for them, but, damn, that last possession was stupid! A single first down, even if there is an incomplete pass mixed in, wins the game. Instead, three straight runs that were nowhere near a first down and Wisconsin's three timeouts leaves Wisc a whole minute to get into field goal range. Huskers lose on the last play... again.

Shouldn't have fired Frank Solich. They got Bill Callahan and sucked.

Shouldn't have fired Pelini. They got Mike Riley and suck again.

They think they're too good for a floor of 9-4 so they hire a coach whose ceiling is a 4-loss season.

Don't feel sorry for them. Feel sorry for Kansas football. There were 16 people at their 66-7 loss to Baylor today where they trailed 52-7 at halftime.

If Twitter and various blogs are to be believed, the Mike Riley era has managed to do in a short time what many coaches in Nebraska's history either didn't do or took years to do and that is put many Husker fans in a rather dark place. Wisconsin's field goal at the end - the game-winning one - put a few more people over the edge, it seems.

Just awful coaching on both sides.  Wisconsin ran 3 times and settled for a 38 yard FG, which surprise a college kicker missed.  Then Riley, maybe the worst hire ever at a major school, doesn't even try to get a first down.  Both teams deserved to lose.

is in the midst of their wilderness years! I have no pity for them given that Osborne was given the coaches poll once he announced his retirement. That's why I consider Michigan the true '97 NC!

Amen. Scott Frost's face you just want to punch over and over and listening to their insufferable fans. That miracle illegal kick to force overtime with Missouri. Try managing my YouTube account and see how much you admire Husker fans. They will never leave me the hell alone about 1997 and have to talk sh*t over any video from that year. Screw those guys. Nebraska can lose every week for all I care.

I moved away from Omaha two years ago, after living there for nine. Husker fans are the worst. 90% that I encountered were completely clueless about the football world outside of Husker football. I stopped discussing football with them after 3 or 4 yeas of living there. I agree, they can lose every week and it won't bother me. Anyone who has lived there would agree. It is quite entertaining to be out at a sports bar in Nebraska when they lose, however.

There's no real recruiting base for Nebraska and moving to the B1G I'm sure hurts their pull in Texas. Without a good coach, what do they have? A lot of 6-9 wins seasons

Remember when they came into the league? they were so damm cocky that they were going to dominate the Big10....result?  ZERO conference titles...The fact that they keep losing heartbreak after after heartbreak is AWESOME!

Why feel sorry for Nebraska?  They did it to themselves.  Fire Solich in a 10-3 year to hire Callahan who then went 5-6 the following year.

They didn't learn and then fired 9-3 Pelini to pick up a perennial middling guy from Oregon State who will now struggle to get above .500.
