Poor Missouri. They look like Kent Dorfman right now.
When I consider Missouri in these expansion scenarios, desperate for B10 acceptance, but not really getting their calls taken as the cool kids parcel out the invites to their new leagues, all I can think of is Flounder from Animal House, as the guys were playing poker at the rush party, standing behind them saying "Hey, you guys playing cards?"
Some of my KU-alum co-workers are in complete denial that the Big 12 is dissolving. It's pretty fun to tell them their football team is as good as dead and get them riled up.
I think what likely happens is the Big12 takes two of TCU, Utah, and BYU and the Pac10 takes the other. Expansion over. (for now...)
I think Texas is ready to bolt for greener pastures. I think a whole lot of this has been so that Texas doesn't take all the heat when the finally decide to bolt. With at least one kid in tow of course.
(i.e. Missouri, meet Conference USA and the Mountain West).
it was......
"Road trip, road trip. Who wants to go (or not) to the Food King" (Pac 10 / Big Ten / MWC / ??)
Then when it is all said and done, there is a conversation between Nebraska and Texas.... OR..... A&M and Texas.... OR.... B10 and Missouri .... or B10 and ND..... or....Colorado and the B12.....or 5 more teams and the B12.... etc...
Where one says to the other one.....
"You F'ed up, you trusted us....." ... while busting a beer bottle over their head....
Just fyi, I believe Kent Dorfman's Delta name was Flounder, as opposed to Founder
Fixed.
Flounder, sir?
Funniest post I've read in a week. +1 would truly be an insult.
My main problem with Mizzou joining the Big Ten is that's another block M in the fold and I won't stand for it! I was on vacation in Mexico and was wearing a Maize hat with a block blue letter M and two different people walked up to me and asked if it was a Mizzou hat.
We need the dues.
"Seven years of college, down the drain. Mineaswell joing the fucking Peace Corps."
"was it over when the Germans bombed pearl harbor?"
Germans?
Forget it he's rolling.
Someone should do one for the Big Ten too. A bunch of arrows pointing towards Michigan, with one big arrow back to OSU, and a small arrow pointing back at MSU.
this would be perfect if Mizzou ends up in the SEC aka Delta House
It's like Mizzou is standing in line outside the club saying "Hey, it's cool, let me in. Illinois invited me -- we go way way back... "
"This is Jugdish, Clayton, Mohammed..."
"We've already met"
"Perfect! Then you'll have lots to talk about"
Kansas, Iowa State, Kansas State
department officials wearing a PPPPledge PPPPinnnn?
there should be a stipulation that forces them
to put their Tiger head on the helmet.
This is the Big Ten, kids... the Block M is OURS.
I want to see Mizzou join the Big Ten
I was opposed at first, but they have become my favorite recently.
Just seems like a great cultural fit.
I think the Pac-10 going to 16 makes it even more likely for the B10 to do the same. That leaves four more teams to pick up...
Missouri probably gets in along with two BE teams to try and force NDs hand.If ND still balks...Then we take a third BE team just to make absolutely sure ND gets screwed is some form for their insolence.
