Whenever I worry that th MGoBoard is getting out of hand, I take a peek at the comments at AnnArbor.com or MLive.  This was seriously a comment posted in this article (from commentor "Obama from Kenya):

RichRod simply needs to recruit a faster QB. It's perfectly obvious that Shoelace is not fast enough for this offense. Its not the coaches or the scheme. Its the lousy players not following Mike Barwis' conditioning regimen. I'm tired of everyone throwing the coaches under the bus. The players are responsible. What are they majoring in again? They don't even deserve to wear maize and blue.

So... yeah.

Here was a good quote from John Ferrara's father:

“People got to realize, this isn't the pros, you can't go to free agency and you can't pick up players. We got to recruit, and we got to recruit the right players, and I think you've already seen what (Rodriguez) can do on offense, now we just have to give him a chance to get the players on defense."

I've been a long-time RR supporter, but this line of reasoning doesn't work.  Getting better on offense and defense aren't mutually exclusive.  It isn't like we needed to finish rebuilding the offense before we could start improving the defense.  We've had 3 years to work on improving both sides of the ball.

So, then, the best explanation is that Rich Rod just did not know that to succeed in college football generally and the Big Ten in particular he needed both an offense and a defense.?

Fire. RR. Now.

Dissapointed we actually have people who want to see him go. These are probably the same people who wanted to see LLoyd go. Some fans will just never be satisfied. Nevermind the fact that Denard broke 2 NCAA records today...Amazing.

kind of a big deal

Yea, Denard is great and what he's been able to accomplish in this offense is amazing.  However he's still arm punting quite a bit even though that should improve.

The main problem with the team though is that there are 3 phases to a football team and Michigan is absolutely HORRIBLE in 2 of them.  The D and Special Teams are plain bad.  RR in his 3rd year should have a better handle on both and people still want to make excuses about attrition and bare cupboards.  I'm not jumping up and down saying he needs to be fired, but I have serious doubts that he can turn this thing around and get the D going.  Brandon is going to have to make a tough decision on whether or not RR can learn from his mistakes (and possibly part with some loyal D staff) to get this team back on track.

I find it funny that the don't care column got some votes. There was even an "undecided" type column. Why would you read that entire article to get to the vote at the bottom if you didn't care?

if you ever need to feel good about your lives, then read the comments on mlive and annarbor.com. You can feel good you don't suffer from the same bipolar delusions as these people commenting on mlive.
