Poll: Greatest Michigan Football Game of the 90s?

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

I've been wondering this and am doing this piece for a project I'm working on. What was, in your opinon, Michigan's greatest game (win) of the 1990s?

It's been picking at me all day. Virginia in 1995 was an exciting finish and a great comeback, But I still can't say it was better than 1995 or 1997 against ohio.

Your opinions on the greatest game of the 90s greatly appreciated.

In '95 I was 11 and that was when I started going and watching the games for the football rather than the novelties, and can honestly say Mercury Hayes in the corner started it for me. I've missed 5 home games since. That being said '97 PSU. That was one hell of a team and we never even let them make it a game. My dad has been going to games since 1968 and still maintains that was the best he has ever seen a Michigan team play.

I could not agree more. '95 Ohio is my favorite, but the '97 PSU game was when Michigan really distinguished themselves as something special that year. From that game on, the national championship was inevitable.

the '93 Rose Bowl against Washington with Wheatley goiing wild, that was my most memorable game, if he had been in better shape he would've had 300 yards easy and it wouldn't have been a 7 point game, the "other" undefeated season in the '90s...

1997 OSU without a question.

I was at both the 1997 OSU game and the Rose Bowl that year, and the OSU was much better.  I had a chance in 2005 to ask Lloyd at a speaking engagement what his most memorable game was and he said it was 1997 OSU as well.

I was only 12 years old, so I was still a fan in training, but the 1995 Ohio game was one of the most enjoyable games of my life watching football. It was like Ohio didn't have a defensive line when Touchdown Tim got the ball. Every run was 15+ yards.

Ah, those were the days when a highly ranked buckeye team would roll in only to get that dear-in-the-headlights look partially through the 3rd quarter en route to another defeat by good 'ole Blue.

Please bring me back to those days Brady.

Was the UM-osu 1997 game. I snuck in the stadium at about 9 am that morning (walked in with a group of vendors, and the security guard did not check IDs). I sat in the 5th row in the student section. To me, that will always be the greatest game in Michigan football.
