points for mattison and nessmeier in the upcoming season?
because I definitely am.
I find your ideas intriguing, and I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.
Nessmeier was a bad start
So this is the Friday Night Drinking thread I take it?
I wish I could get drunk that fast
I'm drinking a Bombay and tonic and still was like.. "Obviously Taylor's thinkin... I don't know what the hell he's thinkin."
Double Tanqueray and soda here. Apparently we aren't on the OP's level
Just bought some Bombay Sapphire East. It's got a lemongrass flavor and I dig it.
Oh man I've been hesitant about buying that, I'm glad you said that. I'll give her a shot. I started with Sapphire then switched to Tanqueray.
just me. I read it thrice trying to make sense of it.
I'll have whatever he's having
Nothing like "peyote Fridays."
From a mod standpoint, I am not sure what to do here....
I just don't want what Stephen Fry is describing below to happen in this thread.
Nice try, Stephen Fry.
Well, what do you know, Henry David Thoreau
Awesome show that I feel is horribly unknown here in America.
In honor of them, I'll have some scotch this evening.
Here's my votes for the whole year.
Any win they all get a 10
Any loss they all get a 0
Just repeat this for everybody and let us know the results at the end if the year
Elno... exits stage left...with class...
and want wholeheartedly to take part.
1,000 points to start a thread.
Mattison once brought a honeycomb and a jackass into a brothel...
Cocaines a hell of a drug.
Wait this is the drinking thread right?
Gentlemen, which brings me to my next point. Don't smoke crack
Ironic that was said by LT in that movie.
That's the joke!
Is a complete embarrassment. WTF are you even trying to say? Ratings???? This post gets a bad rating. Who's nessmeier?
Remember the "We are here" thread? Now that was messed up. This is just a person looking to run some numbers on the side on something. With a spelling error. At least this is about football. I still don't know about that "we are here" thread. And, clearly, I still am a bit curious.
I'm not even mad about this.
It's horrible at being a horrible post/thread.
If you're going to be a horrible original post...go all the all the way. Go "FULL horrible original post.
So yes, I am mad. This is the over the pants handy of sexual satisfaction. There's no point, it sucks, and does more harm than good.
. . . by definition.
I want whatever you're on.
I think the OP needs to adopt my tag line.
Who says crystal-meth is out of fashion?
OP, the University requests that you stay away from women tonight.
This is much better than a typical Friday POSbang thread
This post lacks elite athleticism.
top end savoriness.
"Come to the MGoBoard, they said. There will be posts, they said..."
basically chilli orange brave snow original absolutely stove serendipity.
I would like to assign both coaches a baseline rating of 3*pi.
People these days. I never would have attempted to spell ameliorations when I was that high...and drunk.
How the OP pulled it off in that condition. Respect
I'm not giving any respect. What he earned with "ameliorations" he pissed away with "Nessmeier"
would draft this post over Trey Burke.
OP I see what you did there! I'm drinking Blue moon and enjoying my 70 degree weather out here in my drought state of Cali
I'm in California too. Where are you in our fine drought state?
Wine country.... Sonoma county about 60 miles north of SF. You?
I'm at the front line of lake mead, I'll drink all your water before it gets to you!!!
Go home OP, you're drunk.
Started with a dogfish head 90, 2 of them, now I've had 5 blue moons. Watching Bad Grandpa with the old lady, pretty Good Friday night.
worth 6 bucks? I love the Jackass movies, but I'm still iffy on whether to rent it on Comcast.
Bad Grandpa was horrible. Just watched it.
Yeah we have a coach that won eleven games with the former coaches team. A great defensive mind and a upcoming offensive coordinator that excites me. As long as hoke just shuts up and claps his hands on the side line we 'll be fine.
Casamigos tequila shots out of rock salt glasses and Caricature - Happy Weekend! Let's trounce the HooHooHoo Hoosiers
I remember my first beer.
after drinking thread post smashed bang thread!
The Wizard of Oz.
Shoot your eye out, kid.
Outstanding coordinators are great, but they are only perceived that way if the hmfic is the right fit. The main man, and I don' care what era you are coaching in is the "end all and be all." He makes the decisions. If he wants a smash mouth rushing attack, his OC will do so by virtue of the way the head man tells him, shows him, hell walks him through it if that's what it takes. And the same is true of the DC. Don't worry about the names that occupy these positions. Worry instead about the man that is in charge of having them carrying out their duties. ^Admittedly I am old school; however, I saw a bunch of players that would be categorized as no more than three stars by virture of today's star ratings week after week perform as a 5 star unit because one Mr. Schembechler insisted on nothing less. By virtue of their understanding of that which is required, many were actually drafted into the NFL because acting as a unit, the majority performed as a unit of All-Americans. I recal Tex Schramm, the former GM of the Cowboys stating, "Hell, these Michigan kids must get the best coaching in the world. Their collegiate stats suggest a future NFL great but based on individual testing, they just don't measure up." That, my friends is what we must be concerned about. It's one Brady Hoke that must bring it all together. If you think for a moment that Bama will skip a beat withouth their OC, you are sorely mistaken. Just as Bo's coordinators were offered and acce[ted jobs at other schools, the Michigan beat kept tempo. We've all witnessed what happened at USC, with equally talented players that Carrol was running through, at ND with even greater talent that Davies and Ty enjoyed and in Columbus where probation was a one year hiccup. ^I'm concerned given some of the debacles, i.e., barely pulling out games that we should have dominated and losses such as those to PSU whether or not we have the right man in charge; These were unacceptable results and that is scary. Lining up road kill is a way of sending a message to future opponents, "We are coming, we will destroy and ain't a fucking thing you can do abot it." This has not been the message that next week's opponent receives when we outlast instead of lambasting inferior foes. The message they receive is, "Michigan is human and they can be taken, hence the PSU and NU losses in addition to the cliffhangers that should have been decided by half-time. My friends, it's not the OC or DC that will determine our future, and they're both proven. It's that guy with the title of HC who will determine our future. His recruiting has landed him players at a talent level that Bo rarely realized. The major and significant difference, of course, was that whomever Bo brought in was, as was proven year after year was simply going to impose his will on the man standing across from him until he broke because a "Michigan Man," as Bo labeled them would never break. It's as simple as that. No matter what the DC or OC preaches the players are going to listen and respond to the demands of the head man. The coordinators know what they're doing but unless Brady can communicate to the players the necessity of them performing at a level greater than they have ever been accustomed to, he is doomed to failure. Debate all you wish, but the ability to motivate players to perform at a level they're uncaccustomed to is what has separated all the great coaches. And fuck the axiom, "It ain't the Xs and Os, it's the Jimmy's and the Joes." That is a fine sound byte but I think we can all agree it's much better for a 3* lber to fulfill his assignment rather than a 5* rely on his "God-given ability" to completely misread a play.
That is an impressive wall-o-text for six in the morning.
That there was more text and less space breaks. That is my only complaint
Assuming, of course, you were trying to outdo the OP.
With all of this. Glad the band is back, minus one guy. Go Blue!
Didn't Les Nessmeier read the news at WKRP in Cincinnati?
It was Les Nessman, and here is in one of the best on-scene reports ever inserted into a sitcom really...
Worth watching just to get another look at Loni Anderson.
hand and shrimp
Is waking up from his bender ...
Yeah. Add a pre-season survey to gauge the irrational exuberance and despair of the Mgoblog world.
That what he is trying to say is pancakes are superior to waffles as long as the syrup is evenly distributed. Also, four umbrellas minus two suitcases equals Lincoln, Nebraska.
and the only prescription is more cowbell...baby.
I love crazy!
But this was classic. Thanks all for the laugh. great thread.
Too bad this can't be "bumped" up and just be the Saturday drinking thread. I'm sure some people missed this gem.
