Here are the points allowed through the first 8 games during the RR years:
2010: 240
2009: 188
2008: 230
Note that the 65 points from the 2010 Illinois game aren't even included in the 2010 total, as that was our 9th game last year.

Mattison's resume is damn impressive. DC at Michigan, ND, Florida, Baltimore Ravens and back to Michigan. Those jobs dont fall in your lap if you are not a good DC.

According to an MVictors tweet, Michigan is at #35 in total defense after 8 games. Feels good man.
If we can finish the year around that position, our defensive players and Mattison will have definitely exceeded expectations.
