Poggi Official Visit to Bama per 247

Submitted by gutnedawg on
I'm not sure if this was the coaches had in mind when they cleared the visit... EDIT: Poggi has arrived in Tuscaloosa for his visit. I know the coaches cleared him to join his father on a business trip but I'm not sure if they cleared an OV.

Has anyone thought that maybe the poggi's are just using the official to cut down some of the costs of making the trip to Alabama? And maybe they have talked to Hoke about this and he is ok with it.

I wouldn't believe one tweet from that account. Are you serious.

My point was that I'm pretty sure we didn't know until that point, either. He didn't tell anyone until he got on the plane. It's not like we're finding stuff out before the coaches are. On this one in particular, there's no way they haven't heard about any of this if we're hearing about it, and that probably goes for nearly every rumor we see on here.

Sure if he leaves, we'll eventually replace him, we don't even know if he'll be worth a damn, let's just do what we would have done 25 years ago before recruiting was such a Hollywood deal and wait until NSD or until he actually plays college football before we declare the end.

He gone.  Sucks, wish we actually had some time to find a replacement.  Great parenting Biff, teach those kids to be men of their words.  Or just lie and lie and continue to lie when you're found out and act like you hate recruiting.  What is it about recruiting that makes all these people sneak around and flip flop on decisions.  I really can't think of a real life parellel to anything like it.

He has every right to pick a college of his choosing. Kid worked his butt off to get where he is at. And he hasn't even played a down in college yet and you think he is an all star. He's 17-18 making a bigger decision than most people at that age he should make sure.

I agree with you that every person has the right to make their own decisions about their personal life choices. However, I do think it is a shame how easily people commit to one school and then go back on their word. I know we are talking about kids 17-18 year olds, but that is still no excuse to have no integrity. In addition, I am not referring to Poggi taking a visit to Bama, as an acceptable reason to get angry at his choices. However, when a kid changes his commitment to a different school, I understand how that could make people a little unhappy.

go to Bama and get a one year scholarship, then get your scholarship cut like alot of other kids in the SEC do. We'll see how Biff feels about Bama after that

People are 1) criticizing the Dad's public tweet which is fair game, or 2) lamenting the potential loss, or 3) rightky expressing disappointment that a recruit might go back on his commitment. Obviously we won't know where Poggi is going until the LOI is signed and he should sign whereever be wants, but I haven't seen any posts slamming the kid.

I just picked up some Sam Adams Boston Lager, took a chill pill, and am ignorning all these rumors. IMHO I think Poggi stays with Michigan, but I wish him the best of luck in his career if he chooses elsewhere.

Looking forward to relaxing this weekend and seeing where Green chooses tomorrow.

Cheers mates!

I would be surprised if this twitter account really belongs to Henry's dad.  Let's all take a breath and be sure that we don't get catfished.  This account has very little activity on it.

Talking recruiting is what makes the offseason go by quicker...its football without the game itself, BUT in all reality we have plenty of talent, if we loose a guy or two it shouldnt matter. Its up to Hoke and his crew to develop this guys and turn them into elite college players... Michigan has never had top recruiting classes, but we always had the coaching that have made some of the great players to play at this university. So lets chill, and lets hope Hoke gets these guys ready for next year.. I want to see smash mouth defense next yr

A little dissapointing at the comment from his pops but I think  he still goes blue.  I'm curious what the SEC is doing, thats legal, that is differentiating them so much from Hoke and Co.

The ESPN Bama guys don't seem to think it is a recruiting trip, which pretty much falls in line with what the other sites are saying too. I think this is just 247 being 247.

The discussion on here about Biff Poggi's tweats is ridiculous.

The Biff Poggi twitter is clearly a fake.  Given the OSU reference it's most likely an OSU fan...trying to get all the michigan board to start flaming.

You’ve got to be kidding.  The account was never very active.  And yes, a few (14 total) random nonsensical tweets (Moeller fan, bible study, Wizard of Oz, an Advertisement, and now a couple tweets criticizing the Big 10 recruiting with an Ohio and SEC reference) by a guy who is known to be pretty smart.  Give me a break.  Does this sound like the proud and smart father/coach who sends many of his players to the IVY league and who’s two sons are committed to the Big 10 for football.   He never even tweets about his sons.  People who know Biff have already stated that this account is far far far from his character.

I know a girl on the internet that would like to meet you.  HaHa.
