Please make liveblog mods only

I really enjoy the inane chatter of BlueSeoul, Geaux_Blue, and the other mods!  They're so much better than the rest of the MGoCommunity!

Take away all my points, I don't care.

which is that this board seems run by a handful of people who think nothing you say could be nearly as worthwhile as anything they think or say because you haven't been here as long as them.

It's pretty stupid.

Which is too bad, because this is my favorite sports-oriented websites to visit, but between the way the liveblog is modded, and the way these threads work (i.e the 'point system', and the chilidish intolerance for even a little bit of repetition), makes the social-interaction aspect of this community not very inviting.

I love mgoblog for the information and the editorial.   but it seems most instances where users get to wield judgment over other users are terribly flawed.

thanks for being a douche and assuming i like stupidity.  I wasn't saying there shouldn't be a point system, I just don't quite understand how comments get points when they A)don't seem to appear with the comments they're responding to, and B)seem to have points instantly upon being written...

but i understand the value of critiquing the input of others, thanks.

as for the childish disdain for repetition - i think people here act a lot more butt-hurt about it than a lot of other places.  Just because someone spends too much time on the internet doesn't mean someone else should have to search through pages of threads before starting a discussion...sure, with obvious headline type material, some discretion should be exercised, but in general I think people here act like babies about that stuff.

and you call me butt-hurt?

the ironing is delicious.

The point system is meant to mitigate repetition, and it does a good job for the most part. The assumption is that you can A) read, and/or B) search the site to see if a thread / diary post / comprehensive discussion / etc...exists already. I don't think that is a huge assumption to make on a Michigan sports site. We're human - we may miss something - but when you either start a thread about a topic when one already exists or say exactly what the person above in the thread just said....come now.

I think you do a great job, and on your Saturdays for free, as BISB pointed out.

Please don't quit...most of the 5,000 people participating appreciate your efforts.  Sorry about all the ANGAR I posted when shit was falling apart.

Honestly, I don't even try to read any live blogs, let alone post to them (well except for once or twice a couple weeks back).  I have no problem with those who do enjoy this.  But shit, I can't imagine what kind of masochistic tendency must be in place for someone to volunteer to try to read and filter thousands of comments           while watching the game.  My hat is off to anyone who willingiy volunteers for such an activity. I think Brian should dock the salary of anyone not winning the support of a majority of would-be posters to the live blog.

Livebloggers need to CALM THE FUCK DOWN. The most annoying comment that gets let through is the "My comments never get posted" comment. Um...yeah...that tends to happen when there are 5000 people commenting simultaneously after a big play.

If you are pissed that the mods never let your comments through then (1) Become a moderator or (2) Make an insightful comment (WOO is not an insightful comment.) They're working FOR FREE PEOPLE. They aren't just watching the game, they're watching the game and moderating a neverending stream of idiotic comments with spatterings of insightful comments. If that gives them a little more privelege to post their own comments when they see fit...then call it a perk. But you can't complain...they're doing the work, they deserve to voice their opinions first and foremost. If you don't like it, then become a mod. Or go somewhere else.

Now, the mods can certainly abuse their power or not do a good enough job...but I doubt that's the case, and if it is it's gotta be a few limited instances. They work for free. Repeat that over and over again. Because it's true.

BTW, I'm tired of having to read SKY IS FALLING comments when the score is 14-6 in the 2nd freaking quarter.

Like I said, everyone needs to CHILL THE FUCK OUT.

Thank you mods.

Dudeness wouldn't remove the context of the comment. noooo...

it wouldn't be that his comments were the level of "so and so should burn in a fire" over and over and i told him it wouldn't get published so he should stop and when he asked "what should i do to get published" and i said "stop being a weird asshole and write quality posts" and he said "haha ok" and this was about 4 weeks ago.

noooo...

i just randomly lashed out at him.

yup.

It's a fucking blog you idiots!!!  Geezus fucking Christ.  If anybody other then Brian and his appointed minions tells me how I should comment they can go fuck themselves.  As far as how I feel about a game or the team then just neg me if you don't like what I'm offering.    I don't need to see a thread about it.

I'm looking at you uniqenam and profitgoblue.

Ban me.   Take away my points.  Tag me with I'm a pretty princess.  That will fix everything.

Jackasses.

I just read every comment in this thread.  If there was ever a poster child for misplaced anger this is it. Jesus people calm down.  The mods work for FREE.....and they work at the pleasure of Brian himself who annointed them so get off their fucking backs.  If you are SO miserable and SO unhappy at the things they say or do log off.  Pretty simple.  You aren't forced to be on a "Live Blog" and trust me...it won't change how you feel when the game is over one bit.

I am 100% for any kind of mod work that keeps any part of mgoblog less vulgar than the MSU boards my fiance leaves open on the computer.  ::shudder::

ESPECIALLY when they are providing that service for free on a liveblog.

'i would like mgoblog more if geauxblue didn't help with anything' and then the mods who don't piss people off wouldn't be concerned their efforts were naught and it would be about 100% less passive aggressive bitching at me and 100% more direct.

We are the 99%.  We represent 90% of MgoBlog's CIL posts, but only 10% of those that are approved.  We demand that our redundant "lols" and "wtf's" be heard.  #occupylivechat.

I'm kinda figuring the honeymoon is over with my banter. I've got nothing with you and to be honest we're cut from the same cloth with our contributions (time consuming, self amusing) - I'm going to out myself as jajaja23 also just to rub it in the face of haters who loved that shit and hate me. Eat it... THAT'S CRYING GAME LEVEL SHIT!

I don't see what the problem is!  You are lucky to get 1 out 10 of your post through just due to sheer volume. People should not take it personally. The mods seem to do a good job IMO.

The only thing I don't like are the post game lock downs or mitigation. We mogobloggers should be allowed to vent after losses.  I don't like the mitigation lock-downs where the whole website goes down after a loss. It just feels like the USSR of mogoblog.

But there is something to the point that they have seemed to be dominated by the mods this year. Sometimes it seems like 3/4 of the posts are mods (don't know about yesterday; wasn't on it). And as it's so hard to sift through all that junk (because a lot of junk gets through, because sometimes that's all there is), maybe the time would be better spent modding rather than posting. Because the only valid point of this thread is a lot of mod comments wouldn't get posted if they had to be filtered by...mods. Other than the play by play, if you're truly giving service without reward, just filter, don't post. Or join the masses and not mod and see if your comments should get through. Because between the non-Brian auto tweets and mods, it's seems like a really high percentage this year have been non-liveblogger posts.
