Gentleman, of the MGoBoard Community. I had the undeserving priveledge of rooming with an OSU fan during college. We are sitting here on this beautiful Memorial Day weekend bullshitting about the futures of our college football programs.He is trying to tell me that I am dipping into mediocrity and I am accepting failure for our football program. He is also at the same time trying to tell me that he is a closet Michigan fan and that he roots for M to make OSU look better. I am having a hard time dealing w/ this because he refuses to look at attrition. He continues to tell me that RR was a terrible hire and I just should accept the facts. He refuses to believe that he is Jimmy off of South Park and doesnt look at the facts. Fellas please give me some help here. I cant stand to listen to him speak anymore. I have had way too much kool-aid and this guy isnt even on my level at this point. I keep pointing back to the John Cooper years and he acts like they never happened. Please give me something to work with because nothing seems to be on my side right now...

first off, the rivalry record. in the know buckeye fans will respond quickly w/ 1900's bs, selective history, etc, and thats just fine. then bring up 2-10-1, and how OSU struggled even more than we are now.
close to 70% of Michigan's roster are freshmen and sophomores. theyre only going to improve.
bring up how rampant cheating allegations have followed Tressel from YSU to OSU.
mock OSU at how theyre still #2 to Michigan all time despite having the #1 fertile recruiting ground state in the big 10 and a top 5 one in the country.
bash OSU's academics compared to Michigan
Michigan has better uniforms, tradition, fight song, bigger and better stadium, and they always demolish OSU in the director's cup standings.

First, learn how to use white space. Breaks between program/he, attrition/he, and here/I, for example, would have made this a lot more enjoyable read. It also would have made you look a lot more like a seasoned mgoblogger.
As for your dilemma, I would suggest distance ASAP: adios, hasta la vista, bon soir, ciao, etc. Expecting an OSU fan not to rub it in is like expecting a hound not to howl. Good luck.

--0-9 (OSU bowl record vs. SEC teams, 3 of those losses have come under JT). Michigan, for their part, has done well vs. SEC teams in recent bowls: 2008 Outback we beat Florida, 2000 Orange we beat Alabama.
--RR was not a terrible hire, the team was simply in ruins when he came in. For evidence of this, search for the "Decimated Defense" diaries and pick your favorite factoids from them. Also, Sheridan and Threet vs. Tate and Dernard. 'Nuff said.
--1 for 3 in NC games under Tressel. Two of those games were lost. Badly. Troy Smith was Gator Bait in 2007 fresh after beating M in The Greatest Installment of The Rivalry Ever, Inc.
