Players we want from teams with coaches on the hot seat

Submitted by SanDiegoWolverine on
From browsing a few articles there is a general consensus that these AQ teams have coaches on the hot seat: Notre Dame, Virginia, West Virginia, Louisville, Colorado, Texas A&M, Washington State, Miami, plus a few others that I'm missing. My question is, if these teams lose their coach at the end of the year which of their committed recruits should be target? This could be based on need, likelihood of UM interest, or just because you like a certain prospect. My knowledge of specific recruits is pretty limited but my guess is that if a few of these teams lose their coaches, come December we might have a few more targets on our board, and I'm curious who those players might be.

has not committed to WVU but it has been his favorite. I am hoping for a good season from Michigan, a visit from Latwan, and a bad season from WVU. I think that combination could possibly send him our way. I know people are reluctant to take him because of his attitude but I would take him in a heartbeat. Kid can play.

If it's a player the coaches really want, they'll take 'em. If it's an entire class of lower-qualifiers, but they're great players, they'll take 'em. And this theory of yours, this pie-in -the-sky UM is full of Angels, lollypops, and fairies, well, it looks like it might be tested by more than a few Rich Rodriguez recruits. And to be honest, I couldn't give a shit. Anyone doing a search for integrity and honesty in college athletics will have better luck finding East German female athletes without penises.

i agree with white tiger. we are michigan and should have higher standards. one of the things that kept me pro-lloyd carr, despite the vanilla playbook...why the hell did he wait to his last game v. gators to open it up and use his skill players better i'll never understand, was that he respected the institution that is The University of Michigan. now i'm not saying that he didn't recruit some sketchy players or what not, but he did turn boys into men. he was a mentor and truly cared about his athletes, not just on the field and not just during their time on camput, but truly cared about what their future held. a quick anecdote and then i'll get off my soap box. he had a dictionary outside his office and when players went to see him they first had to look up a word they didn't know and tell him the definition when they entered his office. we are not Thug UM (hurricanes) we are U of M and after the game, after the season, i would rather have a slightly less talented kid with a better attitude on the team then a kid with a 14 ACT and questionable ethics.

I would love to get Chris Martin, top 5 player in the country who is committed to ND. He is a top 3 DE this year, and I believe it has been mentioned that he may even take visits still. Other than that, I would love Latwan (assuming he commits to WVU).
