it is all glass, it is just not all clear glass. the vision glass looks to be pretty clear and may have some blue tint. there is opaque or spandrel glass that you cannot see through and is painted blue on the back side of the glass. this is used in areas where there would be floor structure or to shield equipment or where you don't want people seeing inside. this allows the construction method to remain consistent without have to add too many different materials to the outside. this is pretty common since the late 1940's. glass is very durable and easy to clean, makes sense, construction wise. aesthetically... meh.

that backhoe has brandon graham tied to the end of its arm and he is going all rampage on it. edit: the more i think of it, RAMPAGE is a great nickname for 2010's defensive line. given roh's eyebrows, he would naturally be the werewolf. i don't know enough about campbell, rvb or martin to suggest that either one is more of an ape than a lizard, and i am scared of them.

Listen carefully and you'll be able to hear the screams of some formerly sheltered Old Blues. They'll still have the peachy seats, but they'll be exposed to the elements. As well, once the luxury boxes are in place they'll suffer the indignity of being outclassed, seat-wise, by some champion axle salesmen from Metro Detroit.

My 97 year old grandfather, UM Class of 1934 BS, astronomy, 1935 MS, astrophysics, 1937 PhD, astrophysics, endower of the first fully funded chair in the astronomy department, season ticketholder since 1930 and attendee of at least one game in Michigan Stadium since it opened in 1927, thanks you for your derisive comments towards old people who sit under the shelter of the press box. The man has seen more Michigan football than you ever will. Perhaps you should reconsider your indignance towards those who spent the last 80 years buying season tickets and slowly moving toward the 50 yard line.

Sorry -- my post wasn't sufficiently nuanced. Your grandfather and others like him have my respect. No -- I was after other types that I've seen in that (40 to 40) range. Think smug, pompous, stuffed shirt (or skirt) with an exaggerated sense of self-importance. Or, think high-minded faculty type philosophically opposed to the idea of economic segregation in the stadium but wholly comfortable with his exclusive seats. (No way did the former group slowly inch its way into that area.) Of course there are good people in the good seats. I'm still smarting from the sometimes-disingenuous "Save the Big House" campaign.

Fair enough - apology appreciated and accepted (+1). The old man treks up from Florida (still) to attend games. I respect the hell out of him and don't take kindly to criticism of people who are committed to and revere the University and have for more than half a century. The Save the Big House crew irked me. If they were committed to that quest, the opposition would've also been to the PSD, not just the stadium expansion (after all, the $500/seat PSD between the 35 yard lines is hardly egalitarian). The PSD and the expansion are part of the athletic arms race in which we are, like it or not, embroiled. And it's doubly hard to argue that an update wasn't sorely needed and the only way to do that without relying on state sources of funding is to do what the AD has done: create a cash flow stream through PSD and boxes and sell debt to be serviced by that cash flow stream. Ivory tower moralists and trenchant hypocrisy on privilege issues are sadly, unsurprisingly, frequent traveling companions.

I know that the seats are going to widen when they put in the handrails down the aisles, does anyone know when the handrails down the aisle are going in?

Did anyone here ever sit in one the few seats underneath the press box? I always wondered what it'd be like to sit there. Some of them looked like they had an obstructed view.
