Photo of Obama taking the field at the Big House

The White House released a set of behind-the-scenes photos on Monday from President Barack Obama's appearances over the past month.

One photo, by official WH photographer Pete Souza, shows Obama getting ready to take the field for U-M's commencement at the Big House on May 1st. The president is shown, by himself, touching the "Go Blue, Hold the Rope" sign above the entrance to the field.

Check out the photo below:

Did anyone notice that the sign says "GO BLUE GO"?  What's up with the extra "go"?  Is it instructing players to "go hold the rope"?

This message seems grammatically inferior to "Those who stay will be champions."

Incidentally -- and I was wondering this even before noting your sig line -- the "those who stay . . ." sign still exists somewhere between the locker room and the field, right?  It's just that I figured it would have the pride-of-place location most amenable to a presidential photo.

My only hope is that "SHOW NO MERCY" is no longer written anywhere in the facilities. I remember a photo from the 2008 season of this painted on a locker-room door or something. Some of us were scandalized!
