I can run a 40 in... wait... never mind.
August 20th, 2017 at 5:33 PM ^
that a 5.8 40 time won't cut it eh?
August 20th, 2017 at 6:23 PM ^
40! LMAO
I wish! Probably more in the 6 or even 7's. Haven't tried in 20 years.
August 20th, 2017 at 7:31 PM ^
How about a 5.79?
August 20th, 2017 at 8:44 PM ^
It's not Vick Ballard of miss st, who tripped
It's not Chris Jones of miss st, who took a dive at the end of his run because his man-parts popped out of his shorts
Or Kenny Ladler of Vandy
Ohhh... Shamarko Thomas of Syracuse who fell at the end of his 4.38 40 which is DANG fast. At least it wasn't at the beginning of the run like Ballard.
August 20th, 2017 at 9:55 PM ^
He's so fast, he outran his feet
August 21st, 2017 at 1:05 AM ^
Dang fast but a very shitty go route.
August 20th, 2017 at 10:35 PM ^
I can't stop watching that.
August 20th, 2017 at 5:04 PM ^
Once again coach is thinking outside the box. Very clever.

August 20th, 2017 at 5:27 PM ^
OK, I'll ask: How much of a "tryout" is really going on here? Aside from maybe a handful of walkons, is someone really going to get booted from their scholarship slot three days before the opener?
August 20th, 2017 at 5:46 PM ^
So, unlikely to find someone but you never know
August 20th, 2017 at 6:45 PM ^
There were already walk-on tryouts in February... This isn't the same situation as with Kovacs. We're talking fall camp here.
August 20th, 2017 at 9:32 PM ^
I wonder if anyone tried out for the kicking job during the RR era. I remember him asking the student body to give it a shot in 09.
August 20th, 2017 at 6:27 PM ^
No. You have 85 scholarship players, no one's getting booted. You have 105 players that report to fall camp. Once fall camp is over and the academic year starts, you can add as many walk ons as you'd like. That's how schools like Nebraska always seem to end up with 150 players on their team.
August 20th, 2017 at 5:27 PM ^
very interesting. wonder who will make the team.
suck it, jersey.
August 20th, 2017 at 5:27 PM ^
This gives Harbaugh an excuse (of "meh" quality) for neglecting to release a roster despite outsiders whining about it. Still, that won't stop Brian and NJ.com from (well, forgive me for acknoweldging the unmistakable) whining about it.
August 20th, 2017 at 5:31 PM ^
How are we going to beat Rutgers if they know who's on our team? /s
August 20th, 2017 at 5:47 PM ^
Simply by showing up.
August 20th, 2017 at 9:57 PM ^
Oh snap, he broke out the worm... #middleschool
August 20th, 2017 at 10:27 PM ^

too soon?
August 20th, 2017 at 5:46 PM ^
But I think it's good news
August 20th, 2017 at 5:43 PM ^
but doesn`t the head coach have the right to run his program the way he wants to? he doesn`t need to please some nodody writer out in nj.
August 20th, 2017 at 6:47 PM ^
I would think he might explain that sessions to date have been practices and "tryouts" will commence 8/28.
August 20th, 2017 at 6:38 PM ^
I have a feel the roster will be filled with 1) A,B,C and the word "or"
August 20th, 2017 at 6:52 PM ^
I just... I don't know man. A roster can be updated. I wish they'd just publish it when everyone else does. There's really no benefit to doing this.
August 20th, 2017 at 6:58 PM ^
I'm in this camp. It isn't a depth chart--it's a roster. A few walk-ons added to the list are nothingburger. It's not like they're hiding "Unknown Jabrill Peppers Clone that just moved into South Quad to study engineering and never knew he had football talent until he walked by Schembechler Hall one day." It just seems kind of silly.
August 20th, 2017 at 7:09 PM ^
no matter what harbaugh does it seems like someone has to comment on it. things that anyone else could do wouldn`t even get a mention. i don`t pay that much attention to what`s going on at every other college.
August 20th, 2017 at 8:33 PM ^
I'm in the camp of WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? Seriously, if they want the roster so badly, they can take last year's roster subtract exitees and add recruits like everybody else. So there's no updated roster for Michigan football available to the public. Who cares?!!
August 21st, 2017 at 9:09 AM ^
Ok, people who downvoted me please answer. Why do you care?
August 21st, 2017 at 1:41 PM ^
Because it's nice to be able to go onto mgoblue and see the roster?
Also, we get updated heights and weights, and if we're curious to see what number a freshman has we can just look at the roster, rather than search back through the board to see whenever it was posted from the player's twitter..
August 20th, 2017 at 7:22 PM ^
To do this as he wishes.
August 20th, 2017 at 7:27 PM ^
Sure, but the bigger question is this: Why expend the capital with the press, invite criticism, etc. on the roster? What's the point?
August 20th, 2017 at 7:52 PM ^
Sure, but the bigger question is this: why does the press give a shit?
August 20th, 2017 at 7:56 PM ^
Because rosters help them do their job?
August 20th, 2017 at 8:41 PM ^
They have the internet
August 20th, 2017 at 8:43 PM ^
And no official roster in hand. How hard is this?
Sent from MGoBlog HD for iPhone & iPad
August 20th, 2017 at 10:57 PM ^
It's not hard, correct: take 2016 roster, subtract those who have left, add those who have arrived, and then you're done. Not sure why they need an official stamp of approval before September.
August 21st, 2017 at 12:18 AM ^
If it's that inconsequential, why can't Harbaugh just release it?
August 21st, 2017 at 8:33 AM ^
That doesn't make any sense. Plus he is releasing it; see OP.
August 20th, 2017 at 8:01 PM ^
Everything Harbaugh does is calculated. Sometimes we get it, sometimes we don't.
August 20th, 2017 at 11:37 PM ^
In this case, I think he's just messing with the press. Which seems like a good thing.
I'm trying to imagine Bo or Woody in the internet era. That would be fun. I once made the mistake of asking Bo what he thought was a dumb question (probably was)... sure made me think about what was worth asking and what I should figure out for myself.
If I'm trying to figure Harbaugh out (and I'm not - his results have been so good so far that I'm just enjoying the ride), I'd start with recognizing the impact of growing up in Ann Arbor with his dad on the coaching staff and Bo running the show.
August 20th, 2017 at 8:04 PM ^
Should we assume all weights are what Harbaugh wants them to be more so than being 100% correct?
August 20th, 2017 at 8:26 PM ^
I honestly don't care about seeing a roster or depth chart. Just win.
