theres a article on rivals that is premium content, but it basically just says Pharaoh Brown was very good as a WR at 7 on 7. Maybe Hoke is thinking of giving him a look on offense ?
with all the help that we needed last year in the secondary, I would have to think that there is no way someone transfers from D to O. That being said you never know.
Not sure what the secondary has to do with Brown. He's a DE/OLB.
type player but I'm still having a hard time projecting where these defensive kids will land in the over-under because they're all so similar in size. We won't know where they'll end up for 2 years in some cases.
Really interesting point. Everyone reacts to a college weight program differently, and some will inevitably bulk up more than others, but having flexibility for a lot of these players is a very good thing to have.
I can't say I have any idea how 7-7 translates to actual football, but I did read earlier that he was going to be playing TE for his team this year. So, I am not sure where he could end up but I definitly like his versatility if we need him to fill a spot at some point.
Actually wanted to play TE in college, at one point...one reason Bucknuts said that OSU didn't offer him, LOL.
Called him a tight end, so I'm guessing he has decent hands. But none of the premium sites have a 40 time for him, so I can only guess at his speed. However, if he has decent speed and good hands he probably could be a solid TE (he may be a little big for a WR though, but it'd be pretty awesome if a guy that big could, that's like Calvin Johnson size.)
I wouldn't mind me some Calvin Johnson in maize and blue.
The more I watch his highlight reel the more I think he's just going to be a great player, no matter what position he plays. He has incredible athletic ability and a motor to match. He definitely has that deceptive long strider kind of speed.
umm im getting worried we won't even get one WR
he could be a good option in the red zone.
Nice job by them! Looking like 2013 could also be a good recruting year for the state of Michigan.
I actually believe he will make the greatest impact by the time he graduates from Michigan of all the DL they will get this year . If they get Washington, Pipkins and O'neil, and with the other guys they already have, I think Brown (based on watching his videos) will be the best and has the best chance of playing at the highest level (NFL). But, I would be dead wrong if he ends up playing as a WR.
The TE/DE hybrid is pretty common for high school, so it's not surprising that Brown has experience on Offense. However, unless Hoke is about to harken back to the early to mid 20th century (players on both Off and Def), I doubt Brown will play TE or WR.
There is a certain team in California that employed such a player quite effectively last year
newspaper today. Pretty pumped about seeing him in a winged helmet no matter where he plays on the field!
Will probably depend on how he and other DE's progress once they get on field. It seems we are taking numerous DEs with some flexibility at their position.
Still loving that name!
I wouldn't mind seeing Brown end up at TE, but WR is a stretch, in my opinion. People like to compare all big receivers to Calvin Johnson, but the thing about Johnson is that he's also REALLY fast in addition to being huge. Brown has good speed for a guy his size, but he's not going to run away from cornerbacks like Johnson can.
according to this article, Pharaoh was an aspiring QB as well:
If you actually read that article, you'd see that he explicitly said that he has no interest in playing offense at Michigan, and that if he wanted to play WR, he probably would have looked at different schools.
