I think it's a freaking joke that Stribling and Glasgow did not at least get ONE First Team honor. Both are gonna be NFL draft picks.

I mean, in a judicious and honorable world comprised of logical and rational fairness, Michigan kicked both of their degenerative asses.

Edit: Oh and congrats to them young men. Congrats on being the best team in the B1G. A conference infiltrated with snakes and schmucks. Hopefully the future holds improvement and the replacement of the pathetic and sad individuals!

He took basically the same roster that went 5-7 2 years ago and turned it into the best defense in the country. Lost a tough game on the road to a team that probably sends at least 8 to the nfl. Good Luck in your bowl game, hopefully you draw a sec team and kick their ass. The BIG is on the rise and finally deserving of national respect and that has a lot to do with a strong michigan program on the rise.

And just looking at counting stats is better... how?

People who follow conference teams know who is good in the conference. They see them and they see the teams they cover play against them.

This is a loaded defense. But Peppers was a step above. His athleticism and his versatility made everything else work. He was irreplaceable.

If anything, this is a sign that voters are thinking more, not less.

Good grief, didn't Don Brown have the number 1 D last season without 5? Peppers is drawing some much attention that it allowed Lewis and Strib to lock down receivers all season long. Taco is unblock able at times because of Peppers? He is the defensive POY, but is suspect in coverage, average against the run and good blitzing. Put Peppers on any other team and we'd call him vastly overrated.

It's getting near end of year reviews at my company. When all of us managers get together to start planning how we will rate the performance of our employees, one point is always made: If you simply rely on stats to determine the worth of an employee, you're not doing a good enough job managing them, getting to know them, and understanding what a successful employee truly looks like. Stats never tell the full picture of the impact some one can and is making in their position, and you can bet this is true in football as well.

Of course. It's a popularity contest for many of them...though I'm sure a few some do put more thought into it than you give them credit for. Bottom line of my point though is that depending on stats to determine the best at one's position is as lazy as picking the most recognizable name.

I disagree with resorting to listening to Valenti under any circumstances! However I don't believe that Peppers belongs in the heisman conversation. He really has NO offensive stats to help him, and he caught his first career int Saturday. He's an AMAZING athlete. Unbelievable athlete. Anyone could argue he is the most athletic football player in the nation. He is not the best football player in the nation. In my opinion he's not the best football player on our team. So I don't understand the "Peppers for Heisman" thought at all. How about "Peppers for most athletic football player" instead?

This week I have even steered clear of wtka. Can't imagine listening to ira whine. Maybe next week I can go back. Music and/or NPR so far. Or even driving in silence. Odd sensation that I am growing fond of. .

BTW Malik Zaire is transfering. His top suitors, according to Irish Illustrated? Well, Pitt is one. The other three are Florida, Wisconsin, and MSU.

So get ready to play against Zaire next year.
