Peppers has great visit, May cancel other visits now
Vibes seem good for #Michigan with Jabrill Peppers after visit. Other visits appear very doubtful according to a good source. #Wolverines

@JabrillPeppers visit to Michigan outstanding ... should end speculation that he'll be anywhere else next year.

Reel in the talent!

Good. I'm excited for all of the 2014 class to get on campus and start tearing it up on the field.

It would appear it means that he ran so fast he sucked all the color out of the rest of those players.
Poor Damn People Peppers Just Ran Past.

We definitely need more talent in the defense.

Here's what I think happened. Urban Meyer and Nick Saban and other scumbag coaches told him that Hoke was going to be fired and this worried Peppers. Wasn't Peppers the same person that was told that Hoke was going to the NFL.

This is fantastic news! I started following him on twitter just for this weekend so I could see what his reactions to the visit were. Seemed to really enjoy it and was even at the near victory over Arizona mens bball game. I still won't rest easy until he signs on the dotted line though!

Good to hear. Always felt like the concern of him switching was more fear than reality, but still happy to see Peppers stay in the fold. I do wonder if a solid bowl performance will help to reel in a last-minute commit or two. With the shakeup at Texas and (I suspect) changes at other places, you never know.

from him at least until his second year if that. High school and Division1 football are totally two different sports.

I'm not sure who told Peppers what, and I honestly don't care. As long as Peppers is Blue next year, I'm good.

...JP had a positive visit. He may or may not be the Messiah or the next CW, but he will likely be a Michigan Wolverine. That alone means his future is bright indeed. GO BLUE!

Is he an early enrollee? I cannot recall.

Agreed. He just wanted to make sure Hoke wasn't going anywhere. As long as we don't freak out during the Bowl game, we should be cool with him.

Negative thread about Jabrill looking elsewhere gets 100+ posts. Positive thread (abliet only somewhat positive) gets 26. Go figure.
I hope that this visit was a huge step towards keeping him in this class.
December 15th, 2013 at 10:28 PM ^
That's all. Let's just be excited about this kid having a great visit and hopefully solifying his choice!
December 15th, 2013 at 11:03 PM ^
Not quite. A better reading is that one thread created a lot of uncertainty, which naturally sparks attempts to make sense of the changed reality. The other created certainty, which naturally does not spark as much attemtps to make sense - its already made.

Cancel? I didn't know he had other visits scheduled.

Jabrill,
Michigan needs your mentality. You are a champion. Come become a legend by leading this squad.
December 16th, 2013 at 10:21 AM ^
way too early, of course, but it's worth wondering: assuming he plays next Fall, would you rather see Peppers or Norfleet returning kicks?
December 16th, 2013 at 10:39 AM ^
Is to win. 2014 needs to be a big year for the sake of Hoke and the program going forward. 7-5 will not be enough next year.
December 16th, 2013 at 10:39 AM ^
It's too early to tell, but I think Pepers could really get a shot at being the kick returner. Norfleet (until recently) seemed to lack the patience to find the holes and punch through them. He seemed to be over that during the OSU game where he an impressive showing. It'll be intersted to see what Peppers brings.
December 16th, 2013 at 12:52 PM ^
General opinion question for anyone. How quickly do you think he gets a shot at returning punts? If he demonstrates good enough hands and concentration, I don't see why not eventually being in that role during his freshmen season at some point.
December 16th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
I think it all depends on how much he will be playing elsewhere. If he is in the top two at cornerback I don't believe he will return kicks because he will have a lot thrown at him learniing the defense and will not have the need to add more stuff to his plate. especially since norfleet has experience back there and has been serviceable. Also norfleet has appeared to get better near the end of the season.
December 16th, 2013 at 10:25 PM ^
I agree with all of this. I actually like Norfleet back there. If you watch most of the kick returns closely, you can see the blocking is simply atrocious. Norfleet has little or no chance to make anything happen most of the time. Unless we are somehow drastically misinformed about Peppers talent, there is no way he's not out there getting significant reps on D in his freshman year. If that's the case, let him learn that before you ask him to start returning kicks/punts.
December 16th, 2013 at 10:36 PM ^
Exactly, norfleet has good running style and always tried to run straight up the seem that simply was not there. He didn't waste a lot of time dancing, so when the blocking is there he has more than enough talent and speed to get the job done. As far as a Mattison defense goes he depends on the corners do to a lot so I'm sure that will have to be his focus. Maybe things would be different if he was an EE which would give him more time with the playbook but that is not happening.
