Peppers is Freshman All-American
The Football Writers Association of America announced the Freshman All-American Team this afternoon, and Peppers was named to the first team (lots of other redshirt freshmen on the team). They also named the first-year coach of the year, and Tom Herman of Houston won. Harbaugh and Pat Narduzzi were the other finalists. Here's the whole team:

I can't wait to see what he can do in his red shirt sophomore and junior years.

Don't tell me, he is too short an needs the extra years to get taller.

as a Sophomore, so he may get the firm handshake instead of that fifth year.

I think you are likely looking at his academic class and not his athletic eligability year.

Based on the downvotes, I guess my sarcasm was missed along the way.

Hope he likes what their serving at the Heisman Trophy dinner next year. Won't win, but he'll be sitting close enough to bro-hug the guy who does.

They went 11-1 and beat florida state in the bowl, thats pretty impressive

In addition, they also won their conference championship game to finish 13-1, which was better than their 8-5 record from 2014.

Yep. That award went to the right guy, much as it hurts me to say it.

I don't think Houston at 8-5 was a laughing stock.
January 11th, 2016 at 5:43 PM ^
Houston hasn't had a truly awful run under a coach going back to when Briles was there, save for a season here and there, or at least that's whatI can recall. It definitely was a little more up and down but definitely not where 8-5 would have been a pipe dream - that was more the Kim Helton or Dana Dimel era of Houston football, using coaches of more recent vintage.
