Newsome has a real funky delivery, from the things ive heard alot of people are really impressed with Robert Bolden, hopefully defenses preferebly ours can shut down their run game and force them to try and win through the air

Their receivers looked all right, but there don't seem to be any superstars. Combined with the inexperienced QBs, I'm not too worried about their passing game.

It's on again at 11:00, if anyone missed it.

I'm not sure what to think about the defense. They don't have a lot of returning starters, but their backfield is looking good. In one of the drills, the defense crushed the run game, but I think that's the nature of the drill.

Then you should know a few things... after having a few beers with an older PSU alum the other day in Philadelphia... I learned that Newsome isn't good, that JoePa is angling to get his son the head job, and that most others in the program don't want the son JayPa as the next coach. And I heard separately, that JoePa's health is going downhill fast...which I hope isn't true.

Started watching this last night but found it surprisingly boring - and I can watch just about anything with football. Repetitive drills punctuated with meaningless, mindless commentary by the BTN crew and various coaches. It just wasn't interesting enough to watch. Of course if it is Michigan it will hold my rapt attention but with someone else's team there isn't enough there. It doesn't help that the PSU uniforms are effectively B&W. At least we have some color to catch your attention.
The few times they cut to JoePa he was sitting on a bench looking drained - I assume it was pretty hot.

even though they lost 3 starting LBs. JoePa was funny, when asked what he thought of this year's team, he said something to the effect "we are sloppy, we have no leadership, we no quarterback, other than that we are great."

If anyone has this on DVR, get to a shot of Paterno and freeze it. Compare that shot to a picture from last year on the net. He looks awful, and they've got him basically sitting off in the shade completely out of the action.
It's a shame.

Yeah, agreed, he doesn't look good at all. No stroke, though, as previously speculated (I'd bet on it). He just seemed to have gotten really old over the course of the last year, which happens.
