Penn State Game

Submitted by Bobby Digital on
I'm thinking of driving to Ann Arbor and trying to get tickets for the Penn State game outside the stadium. Can any of you regulars give me a ballpark figure on how much I can expect to pay? I need two, but not necessarily together, anywhere is fine. Thanks for any insight you've got.

Plus, how good of a negotiator you are. :-) All kidding aside, to get a ballpark on the prices look a couple days before the game at stubhub or craig's list and you well get an idea where the market is. Once in AA the closer it gets to game time the more desperate people are gonna be to move them. If you want to miss kickoff you could probably get them real cheap even below face. Personal example: I had an extra outside the main gate by section 1 for homecoming 10-15 minutes before the game and couldn't give it away.

My guy has 2 tickets for the Penn State game on Ebay. 50 yard line seats. I have bought tickets in this section before and they are awesome seats. If the link doesn't work the item number is listed also. Hope this helps! Michigan Wolverines vs Penn State Nittany Lions!!!! - eBay (item 280408072337 end time Oct-15-09 06:

It depends on where you want to sit and how long you want to wait. I actually disagree with the comment about guys getting desperate to move the tickets. I had extras for the Notre Dame game this year and towards the end of the week they went for face value or a little over on Stubhub. I had people willing to fight over them outside the gate. This will be a big game and the 3:30 start actually gives guys more time to sell their tickets outside the gate. I would advise waiting to the last minute on Stubhub, they end most of their listings on Wednesday at noon before the game. If you don't find something you like then wait until Saturday, but get there early and just walk around, you will find someone like me willing to part with tickets at face value. You just have to be active in your approach.

Start hanging out two or three hours before gametime. The bartenders used to announce that someone was looking for tickets from time to time. Let them know that you are looking. You can also get away with "announcing" it yourself in a loud voice or going from table to table and asking. The "scalper mafia" doesn't hang out there; they are too busy outdoors. Anyway, I mentioned CUBS AC because it is the closest bar to the Stadium, but Frasers Pub should have a lot of action, too. It is a little further away than CUBS AC if you are walking, though. I'm sure some of the campus watering holes would be decent if you go around breakfast time, too. Even for a big game, you should be able to get in for around face if you can avoid the "scalper mafia."
