Penn State beats Minnesota, Michigan is a 4-seed

Submitted by the_white_tiger on

We knew we'd be playing Illinois on Friday, but Penn State's win over Minnesota in a "barn-burner" (get it?) puts Michigan in a four-way tie for fourth in the Big Ten at 9-9, but UM holds the tiebreaker over MSU, Illinois and PSU, so we are the four-seed. Michigan State falls all the way to seventh and will be playing a dangerous Iowa team on Thursday.

of leagues with 1-3 at-large quality teams per Joe Lunardi

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology

Mountain West(3) March 8-12
PAC 10 (3) Mar 9-12

Atlantic 10 (3) Mar 8-13
The Horizon (2) Final Tues Butler(in/11) v Wisc-Milwaukee(15/ maybe out?)
WAC (2) Mar 6-7

The Colonial (2) Final Mon ODU(in) vs VCU(out)
WAC (1) Mar 9-12
Conf USA (1 maybe 12th seed UAB) Mar 9-12
MVC Indiana St wins Tourney) (Maybe 12th seed projected MizzSt?)

And, of course, it's always possible that an out-of-the-at-large-running BCS school will put together a string of 3 straight victories against at-large quality competition, but it's not as likely.

that UM will make it in before MSU. the way i see it, MSU will beat Iowa and lose to Wisconsin/Purdue - whomever they play. since Chaminade is not a countable win, this would put them in-line with us. While MSU has top 25 wins, their head-to-head record has to count for something, especially with down-the-stretch performance. if not we'll have the most worthy bitching ever.
