Payback Finally Accomplished

Submitted by UMAmaizinBlue on

Can't believe no one else has posted this image yet (correct me if I'm wrong). I've been holding it in my back pocket for our Revenge Tour 2010, and although we're 1-3 thus far for payback, today's was very tasty and well worth the wait, IMO. We've still got 3 more chances for revenge! Let's enjoy this Revenge Win, and then focus on smoking Purdue in the coming week! Let's keep this Revenge Train arollin'! GO BLUE!

Part of me would have liked a blowout, but this is infinitely better.  A blowout would have been just another embarassing loss for the Fighting Zooks.  Instead, they got to be the losing team in the highest-scoring game in Big Ten history.  If they are "lucky," this game will be a staple on ESPN classic and BTN for years.

They scored 65 points and still lost.  This should cause much more misery for them than a mere blowout would have.  Let the blowout happen next year.

I wouldn't call this the highest-scoring game when you consider the OT rules, alternating possessions with possession starting at the 25. I still remember attending Purdue-Minnesota at the Metrodome in '93 as a 9 year old. They traded TDs all day, including 6 receiving from Minny's Omar Douglas, before Purdue kicked a FG and won 59-56.
