Pats switch Wolverine LBs - Woods in, Crable out (then back to Practice Squad)

Submitted by Michigasling on

Within a few days, the NE Patriots cut Shawn Crable, re-signed Pierre Woods, and later put Crable back on the practice squad.  Links below from Pats website.

Brief note about Crable cut:

Pats writer says he's "stunned."  Crable had his first half-sack last week. Guess it wasn't quite enough. But since the Pats put him back on the PSq, they obviously hadn't completely given up on him.

Woods tells the reporter he'd been working as a groundskeeper at UofM. Says it's better than not working. Article includes quote and expands.

Kinda crazy that Pierre Woods went from making $1.5M one year to being a groundskeeper the next. Good to see the program still looking after the alumni.

I wonder if Crable comes back to do some groundskeeper work now.....

and his methods but the Patriots always have a nice stock of ex-Michigan players. With all those picks they accumulated for the upcoming draft maybe they take some more. I don't think anyone would call Mouton cerebral but he has got some skills, maybe they could coach him up. I know they have a lot of tight ends but Webb blocks like a brick wall and Crumpler isn't getting any younger. Just saying.
