He's been starting all season IIRC. Been solid enough from what I hear.

RichRod was, obviously, a mixed bag. But, I think it 's fair to say that he (or someone on his staff) knew O-line talent when they saw it.

If only the quantity had matched the quality, these past two seasons might have been a bit different for us.

Believe it or not, Rich Rod's top priority wasn't recruiting for Brady Hoke in 2014.
When he left, he had a lot of future NFL starters on the OL, most of them were young, AND he had proven he could turn recruits into starters very quickly. He was completely set for the next 2 seasons, and well set-up for success in 2013. He was entirely right not to place the 2014 OL at the top of his list of worries.
Consider that Rodriguez had already locked up 4 starter-worthy players for the 2013 season, 3 years ahead: Lewan, Schofield, Miller, Fisher (and possibly Q Washington if he had flipped back to OL or maybe Will Campbell who I believe is a practice squad NFL OLmen today). Not to mention whoever else he might have gotten in the 2011, 2012, and 2013 classes.
The 2011 class, the 2012 class, and the 2013 class -- that's all on Hoke. The Blame-Rodriguez meme was weak at the start of 2013, now it's laughable.

He was a way better O-line coach than Funk.

Rich Rod did build a team that an incompetent coaching staff won 11 games with in 2011. Thanks to all of the "Michigan Man" politics, we'll never know how good he could have been here.
I hope the people who sabotaged the program and put it where it is now learned their lesson and the next coach gets the full support of the entire alumni and fanbase.

I really hope he matures one day soon as he has a lot of potential to be an outstanding O lineman for a long time in the NFL.
