Actually enjoying highlights on a Sunday.  Feels weird.

On a different note, at 3:10 on the pass to Kerridge out of the backfield, did anybody else watch Funchess block?   I almost jumped through the TV.  Funchess is between Kerridge and the guy who ultimately makes the tackle.  Funchess turns around, away from the tackler to block somebody who is behind Kerridge!!! WTF?  Maybe he is taught that, but if he goes upfield and blocks, Kerridge gets a lot more yardage.  Man Funchess can be a head scratcher.

I saw that and thought the same thing but I think it was a camera angle. Funchess was closer to the guy coming from the side it made it look like he let the guy in front of him take the receiver down but in reality he couldn't make the block he was too far away

He peels back to take out a blind defender behind him leaving Joe to take on the guy he can see in front of him rather than getting caught from behind and stripped (something a bit more likely with someone not used to handling the ball that often).

I noticed that as well, however with kerridge running I don't think that play would have resulted in many more yards, had Funchess blocked the other guy.

I am so tired of getting teased about Hoke here in SEC country. I don't care that we were sloppy and lucky to play Indiana, because we won. Please lord let Hoke resign and maybe we can win out on luck. How sad is that I can even think that with Michigan football!

You want a human vein to lose their dream job because you don't like getting teased? You need to grow up man. Hoke is starting to turn things around and we are on the precipice of greatness with him. Don't be so short-sighted

Everyone knew that Hoke was going to have a few difficult years as we had no o-linemen on the team. Our struggles, while disappointing, are a result of that youth. Let's wait and see what he can do with an experienced and veteran line before we judge him

This is a blog, not English class and I'm typing on my phone. I have absolutely zero respect for you and the other grammar nazi's on here. You douchebag's discredit every valid point and thought solely because of a missing apostrophe? That to me, is beyond hypocritical and ignorant

it used to be the ball across or not across line of scrimmage. Or maybe it's just that what seems sensible with rest of rules -- things north-south: it's where ball is; things east-west, it's where body is. But, whatever, this one went our way so it's the right call! (I'm one of those still very pissed about the idiotic incomplete call in Rutgers game.)

in the highlights, the difference in throwing motion, ball flight/trajectory, velocity and spin is drastically different when he steps into his throws as compared to throwing off his back foot.  Obvious, I know, but it's like watching two different players.

Not saying Drake is the answer, but that TD run at 9:40 is so errily Hart-like.  Same number, same body type, same running style, even those eyes look the same.

It was so strange seeing a RB actually hit the hole with authority, stiff arm a dude, juke the next guy and gain extra yards. Surreal almost! I really hope the kid is for real, he seems to have far and away the best and most complete overall skill set out of any RB that's played so far this year for us.

the first long carry that DJ got he ignored the hole the play was designed to open because he saw it starting to close before bouncing it outside where there was lots of daylight and green and sped downfield. The hole was there but rather than risk not getting through it, he chose the better option. Always run to daylight, and cut off the defenders weak side to gain leverage and power to run through and you will make yards and plays. This kid has vision and decisiveness something in short supply among the running backs this season.

A special shout out to Justice Hayes who just had another outstanding game blocking for his qb.  He  provided excellent protection picking up blitzers time and again and moving them away from the pocket. He's been doing it regularly and yesterday he helped give Gardner great protection. The Oline had a very good day. It was a nice win for everyone involved.

This team needs a spark and I love the way Drake ran yesterday. The move he made on the last TD was awesome. At least give him the start next week and see what he can do.
